I am not a mother who bakes. Let me rephrase that: I am not a mother who bakes well. Unlike cooking, where I can taste and alter and fuss around, baking is all about following directions. And following directions? Not something I excel at. Plus, who has the time for things like proper cooling? Not me.
The desserts I like to make are insanely easy, but still impressive. It’s best for everyone that way. Yesterday, I saw a picture of S’mores on a stick. Marshmallows, dipped in melted chocolate and covered in crushed graham crackers? Even I could handle that, I thought.
Today, I made them and they are every bit as adorable and delicious as I had hoped. Plus, they take all of five minutes to whip up, which is pretty much all I can handle these days.
If you’re an inadequate baker, too, I suggest you try them. Here’s how:
Melt milk chocolate in the microwave (30 seconds at a time, for about thee minutes, stirring in between.) Crush graham crackers. Stick marshmallows on some sort of stick. I used paper straws because I had them in the house. Dip in chocolate, coat in the crushed graham crackers and stick upright in a cup to cool in the fridge. That’s it.
After the graham cracker, we moved on to whatever other toppings we had on hand. Next time, I may even go all crazy and dip them in colored white chocolate.
Who’s coming over for dessert?

Yes! Now I know what to make for my daughter’s birthday party! Thank you !!!!
Those are freakishly awesome! I want them for MYSELF! Ok, maybe I will make them the next time we are at a bbq that has kids…and adults who like marshmallows.

Thanks for the idea! I recently experimented with cake pops these sound MUCH easier!
I have pinned it to remember to make it soon as it looks deliciously easy!

Oh, wow…talk about easy enough while looking like I put some effort into it!
I do believe after these, my ranking will go through the roof with my nieces.

I found a recipe for these on Pinterest and i made them for Memorial Day. They were easy, pretty, delicious and flew off the plate! A total success!
These are my favorites to make for school birthdays, only with sprinkles instead of graham crackers. They’re easy and everyone thinks you’re super mom for making them!!
PS…the sprinkles are a nice idea. It’s really decadent, but another fun thing to try are the tiny peanut butter morsels.

I love this simple recipe! I would have to make these in moderation. I have kids who like to help themselves (which is nice to a point) and one child who likes to have her own stock pile of candies and what not in her room.
Thanks for sharing. I’m just might make red white and blue for 4th of july!

Yum! And I have some JUMBO marshmallows left over that are way too big for s’mores. I think that’s exactly what I’ll do with them.

Thanks for helping my diet. And for being Oliver’s favorite sugar mama ever. I’ll let you know if he ever sleeps again after having these.

They really do look impressive! 2 thumbs up : )

I’m so making these! They involve all of my favorite things: easy as hell, inexpensive, involves ingredients I have on hand. I picture a party where I hand a bucket of these to all the children with the direction to make themselves scarce. Perfect!

I had high hopes for this recipe, until I got to the “melt chocolate in the microwave” part. Did you know it’s possible to screw up the simple task of melting chocolate in the microwave? It is.
I’m out.

Those look good, but I have a feeling I’d find a way to screw them up. And I like to bake. Dipping in chocolate is not my thing. But it looks like summer day fun, no heating up the kitchen.

I too am the baker who can’t follow instructions. So I made these for the staff at my daughter’s school for the holiday break last year with crushed peppermint and bagging it with some hot cocoa packets–the DIY peppermint hot chocolate kit was way cheaper than getting them all Starbucks gift cards!
You know what? We, as a society, need to eat more food off sticks.
Or else what are we using our freedom for?

Tip, don’t color white chocolate. It binds and makes a mess. Buy the candy melts at a craft store like Hobby Lobby or Michael’s.
I’ve made these and they are surprisingly yummy. I love that you can use different colors for different holidays. Oh, and sometimes you can find these HUGE campfire marshmallows at Wal-mart and they make them really cute. Think twice the size of a large marshmallow. I put little bags over the top, tie with a cute ribbon, and take them to school for parties.

This is even easier than buying something store-bought because then I’d have to actually shower and get in the car. We have all this stuff at home – great tip and fun for the little ones to help with! I think my 4-year-old could handle.

Those pops are a win-win – as much fun to make as they are to eat. My guys & their friends will love these, and now that it’s summery, they can do ‘em outside, instead of turning my house into a sticky disaster zone.
