Please let me know how it goes. Well, Sam is almost 2 1/2 and still sleeps with her paci. I started taking it away when she was awake by telling her to say “bye bye” to it when she was a little over a year. Well, that’s actually what she calls it now. When she wants it, she screams “bye bye”. I think she looks forward to her naps only because she can have “bye bye”. Selfishly, i don’t want to take it away b/c I’m afraid she will stop napping. Also, since we fly all the time, I cannot imagine it without “bye bye”.

He’ll be fine with no paci. Cannon sucks his finger and I wish I could cut it off. I’m tired of saying “hands in your lab” “hands in your lap” “hands in your lap” …

I desperately tried to get him to take a Papu (as we called it) when he was a baby but he wouldn’t.

I only did this at night. I am happy my mother and father did not resort to cutting off my thumbs to stop my habit.

I think you should wean Ben to using his paci only at night. He will stop using his paci as he gets older and has more social interaction. I stopped sucking my thumb.
