Um, I know this is lame, but I was in San Francisco last week and of course I hit all the majors and the funky outlets (at Out Of The Closet I found a pair of Calvin Klein grey wool summer weight pants--brand new--for $8. Then I went to check out and it was half off day!). But there was a Marshall's at Powell and Market and even though we have it at home and I'm in one of the world's best shopping spots, I had to go just to see if their bargains were better than ours. They were!

You are right. it's the best. If there's a coldstone creamery in the same strip mall, it's beyond utopia.

I buy things at home goods that i know i don't need, just so I can tell steve that i have to go back myself to return something. For some reason he never thinks it's odd that i have to return so many things.

Do you have Daffy's? That place will give you a similar rush, especially with kid's toys. I found a $50 land of nod art set there for $20. I was in heaven. it says for ages 4 and up. 31 counts, right?

I love lingering through Safeway and just exploring!!

And my own self-imposed rule at both Marshall's and Home Goods - no cart. Not even a hand one.

My rule is that I can only buy what I can carry so that I don't over spend.

Yet, you would be amazed at my super human strength and creativity because of it.

People are always looking at me and saying "Do you need a cart?" which is more of a statement rather than a question.

"Nope. This is my rule. Only buy what I can carry..."

I'm insane.

My rule is that I can only buy what I can carry so that I don’t over spend.

Yet, you would be amazed at my super human strength and creativity because of it.

Remember the time that Ben (I think) saw the Marshall's bag at your house and said "Bima". He knew I was there from that bag---yep, scary and funny at the same time. I do love those stores and am endlessly amazed by their inventory.

Guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree---if that's the worst thing you get from me, I am content!!

xxxxoooo, Mom

This post almost makes me want to move to the States. How is it I have been surviving all these years with no Homegoods AND no Marshalls?

Canada simply cannot compete.

I would live in Home Goods if I could. I want every single piece of dishware. I have the best looking shower curtain ever thanks to them.. It is so good I have considered buying it's mate and hanging them as curtains in my living room!
