We didn’t send out holiday cards this year. I really, really wanted to, but I just never ended up with that perfect shot that said “my family might be slightly dysfunctional, but just look how adorable they are!!”
Looking back at my pictures, however, I did end up with quite a few that pretty accurately illustrate my family from this past year…
Kind of wishing we’d captured that perfect family shot instead.

We got the perfect shot. I paid someone to take the pics, aaaaand bribed the living daylights out of my kids. I was all, “Just 10 minutes. DO IT and we can go ice skating. Or we won’t go ice skating and I won’t ever feed you again.” But it was the exception, not the rule. The perfect pic, not the bribing. I do that all the time. Actually, it is a lot more like begging than bribing… to be clear ;)

I love all them.Especially, the two with the dogs. I always do New Year’s cards for this very reason. Takes all the pressure off during the holiday rush and I can really enjoy doing them. (And it buys you a few more weeks to come up with a photo.)
