Couple gets the amazing wedding album they never had for their 70th wedding anniversary

Ferris and Margaret Romaire were married in 1946. The high school sweethearts got no professional photos taken on their wedding day, so for their 70th anniversary, their granddaughter Amanda decided to fix that. She reached out to a wedding photographer to make the photo shoot of their dreams happen.

“I’ve done lots of family portraits and a few weddings but never a 70th wedding anniversary,” photographer Lara Carter told Scary Mommy. “Such a rare opportunity that I am so grateful to have been able to do!”

The 90-year-old groom looked dapper in his tux. His blushing 89-year-old bride wore a lavender gown and veil.

The couple still lives in the house they built for their little family 65 years ago. They have four kids, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Carter told The Huffington Post that the couple shared some advice for keeping a marriage strong during their shoot. “Ferris said the key to a long marriage is ‘giving each other space and respecting one another’ and also ‘admitting when you are wrong, except that Margaret is never wrong!'”

“If you ask Margaret she would say, ‘saying you’re sorry, except that Ferris has a hard time doing that!’” Carter told The Huffington Post. “If a problem came up they solved it. It was more important to compromise and move on than to be right. Two was always better than one!”
