The first teaser trailer for “Frozen 2” looks extremely exciting

Y’all, we got a thrilling early Valentine’s Day present. The very first teaser trailer for this fall’s Frozen 2 was just released, and it’s pretty much breathtaking. It doesn’t reveal many solid details, but the overall vibe is quite different from the original and fans are here for it.

It’s a lot to process in just two minutes, so take a deep breath. Be warned that Elsa’s wearing pants and a nifty blazer, Anna’s hair is down, and things are appearing very action-thriller levels of exciting. Anyway, here it is.

Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel), Princess Anna (Kristen Bell), Olaf (Josh Gad), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), and Sven the reindeer are all back for the sequel, and we couldn’t be more excited. The trailer shows Elsa battling a giant body of water and busting out her super freeze powers, which, of course. It looks a bit darker and not nearly as cutesy as the 2013 original, but that’s OK. We’re very here for bad-ass Elsa unleashing her full force during an epic quest, for what, we don’t yet know.

Needless to say, Twitter is basically freaking out.

People are really excited about the all-new, action-filled feel of the sequel.

Bottom line, people are totally loving it.

We last saw the characters after they defeated the awful Hans and the Duke of Weselton, but the tone of this trailer leads us to believe there might be brand-new evil figures the Arendelle crew will have to do battle with.

Before this trailer came to make our day, the stars behind the characters’ voices took to Instagram to get everyone revved up for the new film. The caption reads “Soon enough…” and we’ve gotta say, that’s kind of misleading since we don’t get to rush to theaters for the new installment until November 22nd.

Although we shouldn’t complain since the original release date was November 27, so we get our Frozen fix a few days earlier than previously thought.

Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K. Brown are also in talks to join the cast, though what role they’d be playing is currently unclear. Director Jennifer Lee told Variety last year to expect bigger things from the sequel — and it looks like she’s delivering on that promise. She says the focus will remain on Elsa and Anna, but this film will be “bigger” and “more epic” in scale. “They’re going to go far out of Arendelle,” she said.

SQUEAL.

We’ve still got quite a few months before our homes are once again filled with new Frozen material, which isn’t to say we want to rush summer, especially as we suffer through this freezing weather. At least we have this new trailer to hopefully keep us a bit warmer until we get to see the whole thing.
