Harry Styles' New Video Features Phoebe Waller-Bridge & Tons Of Sequins

by Julie Scagell

Harry Styles and Phoebe Waller-Bridge will give you hope for 2021 with Styles’ new music video

If you were wondering if 2021 will be any better than 2020, leave it to Harry Styles and Phoebe Waller-Bridge to seal the deal just two days into the new year. Waller-Bridge makes an appearance in Styles’ latest music video, and it’s just a dream to watch.

The former One Direction star just dropped the video for his song “Treat People With Kindness” on Friday, and none other than the Fleabag creator and actor herself waltzes into frame giving watchers a gorgeous black-and-white cinematic experience.

Waller-Bridge appears at the start of the video then vanishes and we’re all left wondering where she went. But worry not, she emerges a minute later with a martini in hand where she watches Styles sing and dance for the crowd. The entire video will make you grin from ear-to-ear with their matching outfits, sick dance moves, and the song’s message about kindness really puts the entire experience over the top.

According to The Wrap, Gabe Turner, who co-directed the music video with his brother Ben Turner, said the project was shot before the pandemic began which allowed them to create this magic.

“Didn’t realize how lucky we were to experience this at the time! Harry & Phoebe – an absolute career highlight! Fitting that it goes out today hoping that in 2021 we can return to some kind of normal,” Turner tweeted on Friday.

Social media went wild over the duo coming together for his music video and couldn’t get enough of the song, the fashion, and the message:

Styles tweeted the video out as well, captioning the tweet, “TREAT PEOPLE WITH KINDNESS. OUT NOW,” in all caps. The pop star is capping off a year of much career success, Grammy nominations, and can we please not forget about his Vogue cover.

The black-and-white masterpiece shows Styles as a cabaret star performing in an Art Deco nightclub. He and Waller-Bridge are both decked out in a head-to-toe Gucci (and later matching sequined golfing sweaters) looking as fab as ever. Though we don’t get to hear Waller-Bridge spout lines that make you spit out whatever you’re drinking or drop perfectly timed F-bombs, we do get a final shot of her looking cheekily to the camera in classic Fleabag style.

We deserve something like this to bust into 2021, jazz hands and all. With lyrics like “Maybe we can/Find a place to feel good. And we can treat people with kindness/Find a place to feel good,” this may be just the anthem (and the message) we need to get going in the new year.
