One small drawing goes viral and makes for a holiday design you cannot un-see

Do you know what we need more of? Outrage at holiday cups. There isn’t enough. I’m not even kidding. It’s always so amusing and we only have Starbucks to look forward to every year. I was so hoping the design on a McDonald’s cup that popped up on my Twitter feed yesterday was an actual decision made by an actual McDonald’s employee. Alas, it’s not.

But it’s still funny.

Author Sam Sykes put some ink on a McDonald’s holiday cup and took to Twitter to ruin the harmless design for everyone, forever.

“Now how the hell are Starbucks cups on the news again and no one’s talking about a guy spreading his cheeks open on McDonald’s cups,” he asks.

Oh, Sam.

The funniest part was, once people saw it, they couldn’t unsee it. So much so, they couldn’t even make out what the original design was supposed to be. “If this isn’t ass cheeks, I’m at a complete loss.”

Yes, it was, in fact, supposed to be a nice holiday drawing of some warm and cozy winter mittens.

“Our festive McCafé cups are of mittens not hands,” a rep for McDonald’s told The Huffington Post. “The altered image circulating on social media is the result of someone getting a little cheeky and adding some hand-drawing to a cup.”

Ha. You know what he really wanted to say. “WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? THESE ARE MITTENS. LITTLE KID MITTENS. THEY DON’T EVEN HAVE FINGERS, SICKOS! AND WHERE ARE THE LEGS, GENIUS? I QUIT!”

Sorry, McDonald’s. The internet only sees butt cheeks. Your festive holiday cup is ruined, by no fault of your own.

Better luck next year, McDonald’s.
