Mom’s message to her son in college goes viral

One day they depend on you for everything (including wiping their ass), the next day they forget you exist. Ahh… parenthood.

Ann Pinto shared this video on her Facebook page. It’s a message to her college-aged son, who apparently hasn’t been great about keeping in touch since he moved out.

“When you’re in your dorm at night do you lay there and think, ‘Wow. I wonder who fed me for the first 18 years of my life?’ Well, I don’t want to brag, but that was me!”

The video went wildly viral and been shared millions of times, because clearly this is every parent’s destiny: to sit and wonder how the child who once shadowed them everywhere could actually forget to pick up a phone.

“If you haven’t forgotten me, maybe you’ve forgotten how to use a phone. Well, you know what? This is what I do — I’m a mommy and mommies help their kids learn. I taught you how to go in the potty, and how to ride a bike — so I’m going to teach you how to use the phone.”

Oh my god, are they really that bad? This is forcing me to reflect on my college days. Not a lot of memories of mom and dad peppered into those years.

Ugh. I’m going to go brush my toddler’s hair. I’m having separation anxiety all of a sudden.
