Viral post shows how much sugar is in Cadbury Creme Eggs

I have some potentially new information for you that, if you think real hard, actually shouldn’t be too new at all. But sit down anyway, I don’t want to be responsible for anyone fainting from shock.

*Deep breath* Cadbury Creme Eggs have an absolute shit-ton of sugar.

Surprising, right? Well, not really. As we let our tongues be surrounded by that gooey, ultra sugary mess of goo, what do we think it’s made of? Kale and protein powder? It’s sugar, y’all. Pure, unadulterated, delicious sugar inside a chocolate shell also made of sugar. Nevertheless, it’s apparently registering enough surprise that a post demonstrating just how sugary they are has gone viral.

The Little Red Hut Home & Gift Shop, bless their naive hearts, probably thought they were doing some kind of public service for consumers by letting them know just how unhealthy a chocolate-encased pile of goo so sweet it makes your tongue itch really is. The photo shows a Creme Egg next to a mound of sugar equivalent to the amount of sugar in one Egg. There’s even a handy penny included for scale, to let everyone know just how much garbage you’re packing into your facehole every time you shove one of these puppies into your mouth whole.

Am I the only one who does that? Puts the whole thing in and lets it slowly dissolve? Try it sometime. It’s life-changing.

Anyhoo, while some people responded with a resounding “no duh,” others were more enlightened by the news.

Others were, well, basically me. Fresh out of fucks and determined to press on in their Cadbury eating ways.

Becky, of The Little Red Hut Home & Gift Shop, tells Scary Mommy she’s still planning to eat the sugar-laden treats regardless of how terrible they are for your health. “I still love them! Everything in moderation I say.”

Right on, Becky. Pry my Cadbury Creme Eggs from my cold, dead, sticky hands.
