Video shows Trump being loudly booed and subjected to chants of “Vote him out!” during a tribute for Ruth Bader Ginsburg

During a visit to the Supreme Court to pay respects to Ruth Bader Ginsburg‘s casket, Donald Trump was met with extremely loud booing and chants of “Vote him out.” It was all captured on video, and you can see Trump visibly squirm as he’s forced to endure not being publicly adored in the way that he is during his rallies.

The crowd also chanted “Honor her wish!” at him, as Trump is determined to overlook the late justice‘s dying request — that she not be replaced on the Supreme Court before Election Day — in order to give the Supreme Court a conservative majority. He stood silently as the crowd grew louder in their jeers, visibly sweating underneath the face mask he regularly refuses to wear in public spaces.

Justice Ginsburg passed away on Sept. 18 from metastatic pancreatic cancer. Over the weekend, hundreds of mourners came together on the steps of the Supreme Court to honor her and her lifelong dedication to protecting human rights. They held a candlelight vigil and left dozens of bouquets of flowers along the steps to honor the legacy of RBG.

The death of Justice Ginsburg and the subsequent void of her voice on the Supreme Court has sent waves of panic throughout the nation as everyone comes to grasp what her death and absence means for the country’s future.

Just two hours after her death, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell indicated he would move quickly to confirm a new justice, nominated by Trump, prior to the election. In 2016, McConnell and Senate Republicans refused to confirm Merrick Garland President Obama’s Supreme Court pick to replace Justice Scalia. President Obama had nominated Garland in February of 2016 — several months before the election.

Ginsburg will lay in repose outside the courthouse for the remainder of today so the public can pay their respects from behind barricades. Trump and Melania stood behind Ginsburg’s casket this morning as the boos and screams swelled loudly from the crowd outside.

Eventually the Trumps ducked inside as the chants grew louder.

It’s not the first time Trump has faced (extremely audible) public rejection. During the World Series last year, he received a less-than-inviting welcome from fans in the stadium — they loudly booed him and started chants of “Lock him up!”

Only time can tell, but hearing a mass of people turn against Trump six weeks before Election Day is the little serotonin boost we all need, TBH.
