Flunking Preschool

I’m not sure what the exact assignment was, but I’m pretty sure Lily failed:

lil1She really is gifted. I swear.

maybe it’s just kid slang that you don’t know yet. Because we apple in the car all the time over here.

Technically Napkin could be short for nappie. like diaper. Maybe she’s just secretly Brittish?

So she is secretly a Brittish nanny who napkins kids. Duh!

Or she’s harboring chicken eggs in her closet. Better go check….

3 Scary Mommy April 14, 2009 at 11:16 am

LOL. The “You boy at school” is somewhat disturbing.

4 Futureblackmail April 14, 2009 at 11:27 am

Hey – at least all the letters are in the right order – that’s huge!

I think I’ll start calling my husband the “egg” – just to be able to say the egg is home. Brilliant!

5 Playground for Parents April 14, 2009 at 11:31 am

Well, an egg is in a nest. We call it nesting at home. So, “the egg is home” makes perfect sense. Brilliant.

Does that say ‘boy’ or ‘box’? Has she taken up boxing at school??

8 Cookie Crums April 14, 2009 at 11:44 am

You never know what the “story” was in her head. It could have made perfect sense if the great scheme of things! Just not with four sentences.

9 Sara April 14, 2009 at 12:12 pm

I LOVE it! Perhaps she was just being creative and independent. Who needs directions and sentences that make sense anyway?

10 Cate April 14, 2009 at 12:50 pm

I’m impressed, she has more creativity and better penmanship than I do. I wonder if I can redo preschool, especially if there is boxing!

11 Sticky April 14, 2009 at 12:58 pm

K—that is just TOOO cute!!! :) Who cares…it’s pre-school, and everyone has their talents in different areas…right? My kids talent is creating her own outfits… :)

13 linda sue April 14, 2009 at 1:19 pm

This makes perfact sense to me , particulary reading it first thing in the morning without benefit of speed-and the fact that she can make the pencil work in the way it was intended is absolutely brilliant! Yes, She is a genius- her penmanship is better than my husbands and he is well passed preschool!

14 Jennifer April 14, 2009 at 1:24 pm

Looks pretty good for pre-k. She even spelled napkin right. That is pretty awesome.

She’s in preschool and she knows how to spell “napkin”… I’d say that’s pretty darn good. Seeing as how my 6 year old still calls them “nakins”… and I’m pretty sure she’d spell it that way, too. n-a-k-i-n-.

See I apparently flunked too because I cannot spell.

19 Texan Mama April 14, 2009 at 2:20 pm

Um, seriously, if she’s 4 years old and she can write all those things, then she IS gifted. Even if she’s 5, that’s pretty talented. Even if it doesn’t make sense.

20 courtney April 14, 2009 at 2:23 pm

I have never laughed harder at a blog entry, yet!

I have something very similar that my little einstein, Bram, did. Except his involved extremely poor scissor skills. At almost 4 he can’t even draw a circle. So Lily is VERY advanced if you ask me.

SO FUNNY!

courtney’s last blog post..You might be a redneck if…..

21 Vickie April 14, 2009 at 2:28 pm

Oh heck no! She is not flunking! I am bor at school too and my egg is home. It is in the frig. I like to napkin the kids too. It is just neater that way.

Brilliant child!!

25 Kelly Deneen April 14, 2009 at 3:26 pm

Ahhh. Apple makes much more sense than Abbie! Kind of. hehe.

I love that she napkins a kid. Maybe she meant kid-napped? lol.

26 sandy April 14, 2009 at 4:11 pm

”you boy at school” is a command in street slang.
as in ”Hey you! boy! at school!” she is telling someone [maybe ben] its time get to get a move on and get to school.
and since Lily is so neat she always napkins a kid.
and i am going to apple in the car tomorrow. i might even coffee, apple and water in the car. so there.
and friday i am going to Jill and Evan in the car. YEAH! cant wait to see you.

27 Christopher (AKA: CaJoh) April 14, 2009 at 4:14 pm

“We Appie”… I wonder what that means. She is probably more intelligent than she leads on to. She probably is in protest over having to take a test and would much rather be doing something more productive than “busy work’. I never liked having to use the green scissors in preschool even though I was left handed.

Sorry only just coming across this post. Been terrible with keeping up lately. I’ve been working hard – gasp – and am such a procrastinator that once I open up blogs work gets sidelined.

ahhh, side tracked. Sorry!

Lily’s a genius… think about

Egg is home – cause she eats egg at home, not at school, not at movies, at home.

What kids doesn’t need napkins? I napkin my kid ALL the time!

Boy at school – well, I only hope Jeff has a shotgun :)

Apples in cars make perfect snacks…

I doubt you need me to rationalise her brilliance, but there it is.

Hilarious post! Love it!

And the best part, it’s saved forever! memories…
