Mom finds fingernails lodged in her son’s gums due to his nail-biting habit

When you become a parent, you find out fast just how gross kids can be. From diaper blowouts to endless spit-up, moms and dads quickly develop a high tolerance for the disgusting. That said, literally nothing will prepare you for this video of a mom pulling bitten-off fingernails from her son’s gums.

We only wish we were kidding.

Louisiana mom Sara Guidry shared a video on Facebook of the discovery and removal of 32 fingernails her son Kale had chewed off and apparently, somehow lodged up in his gums. Despite the barf-inducing material, the video has over 200,000 shares and a staggering 34 million views.

Brace yourself because, holy shit.

The mom’s post contains a part one and two, both featuring Guidry prying one fingernail after another out from between her son’s teeth and gums. She writes, “Kale has always kept us on our toes. Looking in Kale’s mouth I see something white in his gums. I get a tweezer and pull it. It looked like a finger nail.”

It was totally a fingernail. And it wasn’t the only one.

“I continued to pull 4 more out. I then search his mouth and find another area. I pulled around 27 out of the second spot. YES 27! The dentist has never seen anything like this.”

Now, 34 million other people have seen it. And unfortunately, they can’t unsee it.

If you can stomach it, Guidry explains in vivid detail how her son managed such a nauseating feat. “We figured out that Kale bites his nails and plays with them in his mouth. He pushes them up towards his pallet. The nail penetrates the skin and goes into a pocket between the baby teeth and permanent teeth.”

If your kid is a nail biter, we’re going to bet you’re already hot on their case showing them this video and giving them a good scare. In fact, it’s so horrifying that some of the comments are insisting the video must be fake, but honestly, how could she fake that? Although with something this unholy, it’s probably easier for people to tell themselves it’s not real so they don’t have to confront the repulsive reality.

I know I’m rocking in a corner telling myself exactly that.

Moral of the story? Kids are super gross and will do terrible things, but parents are amazing at tackling even the sketchiest of situations. Huge kudos to Guidry for sharing her experience so other parents can stop their kids from squirreling away fingernail clippings in their gums.

BRB, going to throw up now.
