When Your High School Yearbook Quote Goes Viral

“I’d rather laugh with the sinners than die with the saints” is what I went with, along with about 50 billion other high school seniors. Pretty lame. I mean, I love me some old Billy Joel, but this classic one-liner definitely lacks a certain creative flair.

Now check out what Rafika Alami came up with:

Is that not the epitome of perfection right there?

So who is this linguistic mastermind?

According to BuzzFeed, Rafika Alami is a student at Summit High School in California. She added the awesome quote—”Only reason I wear this is to give you females a chance”—under her picture “because she thought it was funny.” Since we’re fairly certain the “this” refers to her veil (known as a hijab)—and that she’s saying her hotness is so intense, she’s doing us all a favor by keeping it under wraps—we couldn’t agree more.

Not surprisingly, the quote has brought the 17-year-old tons of props and virtual high-fives on social media. “I’m getting a lot of ‘slay’ and ‘G.O.A.T’ comments [ed.: ‘Greatest Of All Time’],” she told BuzzFeed. “There are a very small handful of people saying I’m putting girls down but I’m really not.”

High school juniors consider yourselves warned, because Alami has just officially upped next year’s quote game, which means you should probably start thinking about it now. And while I don’t think anything will ever top the brilliance of Nguyen-sanity in 2012, if you’re looking for some inspiration, check out the yearbook genius of these 18 students.
