Here Is The Women's March Playlist You Need For The Resistance

by Liz Henry

Let’s hear it for welcoming Donald Trump to the White House with a protest!

Trump is now our 45th President, and while I feel like I could listen to the Ramones “I Wanna Be Sedated” on repeat for the next four years, I can’t do that. We can’t do that. And we won’t.

The Women’s March in Washington and sister marches happening around the globe will bring the warmest of welcomes to the Great Cheeto as he moves into the White House. And we thought, while you protest against the value pack of boneless chicken breasts Trump has nominated for cabinet positions, a playlist was in order.

We’ve included Bikini Kill as a call to arms, “Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins for obvious reasons, “Beat It” by Michael Jackson ’cause that’s what we’d really like Trump to do, and The Clash’s “Police on My Back” just in case that happens. And we end it with Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright.” Which is what we’ll be as long as we continue to do the work of resistance.
