16, Ahem, *Killer* Baby Names Inspired By You

No one should want to be like Joe, but that doesn’t mean your baby can’t be named after him.

Hello... you. Who are you? You need a baby name — and, in fact, there are quite a few characters on You that would make great inspiration. And what better way to honor the fourth season of You (Part One)? They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, and Joe would just be so pleased to know he’s made such a mark on your lives. But don’t let that stop you.

Netflix

Guinevere

Much like Queen Guinevere of Camelot, this character didn’t get the happily ever after she was hoping for. Still, there’s no denying that the name itself is beautiful and unique. It nothing else, it’s a name no one will ever forget.

Netflix

Beck

One of the interesting things about some You characters is that their last names can also make great first names. Guinevere Beck is no exception. While Guinevere has a more formal ring to it, Beck is creative and relatively rare to hear among baby names.

Netflix

Peach

She may not have been a great friend to Beck (or anyone for that matter), but Peach was a force to be reckoned with. And hey, if celebrities can name their babies after fruit, then why can’t you? Peach is the new Apple, after all.

Netflix

Candace

As Joe’s first love, Candace was initially an ominous figure to viewers. In fact, all we really knew about her was her name. And that name was enough to send chills down Joe’s spine, which makes it pretty great IMO.

Love

Love conquers all. All you need is love. What’s love got to do with it? There are so many great lyrics and quotes about love, so why not name your baby after it?

JOHN P. FLEENOR/NETFLIX

Quinn

Love never goes by her last name like Beck does, but Quinn is a great gender-neutral name that is fun and cool — and very “in” right now.

Forty

This guy definitely had his demons to contend with, but he ultimately proved to be an unforgettable character — and his name definitely contributed to that. One can only imagine what his 40th birthday party would’ve been like. (RIP)

Ellie

This could either be a nickname for Eleanor or you could choose to make it the full name, which is known to mean “light” or “bright shining one.” Either way, it’s a beautiful option.

Delilah

There’s just something special about the name Delilah. It’s a type of flower and the central focus of a popular Plain White T’s song. Honestly, what more could you ask for?

Theo

Theo is most commonly short for Theodore, but shortening it to Theo gives it a more modern take. Hopefully your Theo would have better luck in love (or in this case, with Love) unlike this poor guy. (Again, RIP.)

Sherry

As Sherry on You proves, this name can be ICONIC. She’s fabulous. She’s a straight-up boss lady. She’s somehow horrible and lovable all at the same time, which made her a legendary name on the show.

JOHN P. FLEENOR/NETFLIX

Cary

Much like his wife, Cary proved to be equal parts awful and amazing. Their dynamic throughout the show — particularly when trapped in Joe’s cage together — was truly top-notch entertainment. It’s also what helps to make this name a worthwhile contender.

Henry

All the proof you need that Henry makes for an adorable baby name can be found right in this photo. In conclusion: Great name. Terrible parents.

JOHN P. FLEENOR/NETFLIX

Dante

Sure, the first thing that may come to mind with this name is Dante’s Inferno. But seven circles of hell references aside, the name actually comes with a great origin and is known to mean “steadfast,” “enduring,” and “everlasting.”

JOHN P. FLEENOR/NETFLIX

Marienne

She’s the one that got away — well, for now, at least. But not if Joe has any say in the matter, of course. This lovely French name means “rebelliousness; sea of bitterness.”

Netflix

Joe

This list can’t end without including the man himself. Joe has done many, many, many horrible things throughout his life. However, his name has nothing to do with any of that. It’s a good, solid name. Let’s just hope that similarities between him and your baby end there, am I right?
