We are so here for Beyoncé talking about breastfeeding and love and life

Beyoncé’s Instagram account is a work of art. Honestly, it may as well hang in the Louvre at this point, considering she and Jay-Z are regulars there. One thing she doesn’t do very often with her Instagram photos, however, is caption them.

Until today, when she took to her account to share never-before-seen photos and a heartfelt, candid, emotional letter to her fans about her “monumental” year as a performer, wife, and mother.

Beyoncé turned 37 on September 4th, and it looks like she celebrated it in pure style with the ones she loves most. But she also took time to reflect on her 36th trip around the sun, and everything the past year brought to her life. Breastfeeding twins, vow renewals, and a worldwide joint tour with her husband. You know, typical stuff.

“At 36, I became a new mother of 3,” she writes. “I breastfed twins. I renewed my vows with my husband of ten years. I came back home to the stage to do Coachella, after pregnancy. Then my husband and I released our album together, Everything Is Love.”

If you’re feeling sorely underaccomplished right now, you’re not alone. It’s like the saying goes, “You have the same 24 hours in a day as Beyoncé.” Except we don’t, but it’s nice to feel like if she can do everything she does, we can get up off our asses and do something worthwhile too. And honestly, breastfeeding twins is every bit as grueling and tiresome as a worldwide tour — just saying.

“We’ve been touring with our family around the world, and loving it,” she continues. “This year has been monumental for me. I thank God for everyone in my life.” She also shared some gorgeous photos of what appears to be a birthday vacation and honestly — move over, Mona Lisa.

I MEAN. CAN YOU JUST NOT ASSAULT ME LIKE THIS WITHOUT WARNING.

Earlier this month in an interview with VOGUE, she revealed her twins, Rumi and Sir, were born via emergency C-section. “I was 218 pounds the day I gave birth to Rumi and Sir. I was swollen from toxemia and had been on bed rest for over a month. My health and my babies’ health were in danger, so I had an emergency C-section,” she explained. “We spent many weeks in the NICU. My husband was a soldier and such a strong support system for me. I am proud to have been a witness to his strength and evolution as a man, a best friend, and a father. I was in survival mode and did not grasp it all until months later. Today I have a connection to any parent who has been through such an experience.”

So yeah, this woman deserves alllllll the birthday celebrations she wants.

She ends her heartfelt post with some sweet, grateful words for her fans. “Thank you for all the positivity and for the beautiful birthday wishes,” she says. “I’m looking forward to continuing to learn from my past, living in the present, and surrendering to the future. I love you, Hive. B.”
