Sir Carter and Rumi are adorably perfect

Did you sit bolt upright in bed last night around 1:00 am Eastern time and say, “I think Beyoncé and Jay-Z just shared the first photo of their new twins on Instagram plus also revealed their names,” or was that just me?

Crickets. This is awkward.

Anyway, my creepy prophecy came true and Beyoncé, looking every inch the goddess and not at all like a human who had two babies at once barely a month ago, revealed her babies and herself for the first time since their birth. She also shared their names — Sir Carter and Rumi.

And it was glorious.

For my own self-esteem’s sake, I’m going to hope there was a lot of creative photo staging going on here because, look at this woman. Look at her. She’s immaculate and I’m simply in awe.

Her Palomo Spain ensemble looks an awful lot like the outfit she wore earlier this year when revealing the news of her pregnancy on Instagram. It also looks an awful lot like the same floral scheme in the background, or at least both done by the same floral designer? Either way, we’re not worthy.

Rumors swirled a few weeks ago of the twins’ names based on the fact that ‘Yonce and Jay filed trademark documents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office seeking rights to the words “Sir Carter” and “Rumi Carter.” As one does.

According to USA Today, the items covered by the trademark include “baby teething rings, baby carriages and baby strollers, plus such items as cosmetic products, books, bags, key chains, mugs, clothing and online video games.” Looks like these little tykes will be in on the family business before they know it.

They join adorable 5-year-old big sister Blue Ivy to make the Carters a family of five. We hope to see more photos very soon, but this will tide us over for now.
