Watch the trailer for Dolly Parton’s delightful movie musical Christmas on The Square

Dolly Parton just blessed us with the best early Christmas gift ever — the trailer for her Netflix movie Christmas on The Square. Dropping November 22 on Netflix, just in time for Thanksgiving, Christmas on The Square is a holiday musical starring and featuring songs by the one and only Dolly Parton. Not only is the movie full of the legend herself and ample Christmas cheer, but it’s also a gender-swapped Scrooge story, kind of.

Per Netflix, Christmas on The Square stars Christine Baranski as “a rich and nasty woman, Regina Fuller, [who] returns to her small hometown after her father’s death to evict everyone and sell the land to a mall developer — right before Christmas. However, after listening to stories of the local townsfolk, reconnecting with an old love, and accepting the guidance of an actual angel, Regina starts to have a change of heart.”

The film is directed by the iconic Debbie Allen, so it has all sorts of musical numbers to accompany 14 (!) Dolly Parton holiday songs, like the titular song “Christmas on The Square,” which you can listen to below.

“One month until #ChristmasOnTheSquare is available on @netflixfamily! I can’t wait for you and your loved ones to enjoy this holiday musical! I hope we can all come together and sing along on November 22,” Parton wrote on Instagram on Thursday.

This movie has everything: Dolly Parton, Christine Baranski, dance numbers, snow, and a little town that takes Christmas real serious…

I can’t remember the last time I watched a movie trailer and just like, smiled like an idiot for two minutes straight.

Parton is a one-woman media empire at this point, and this isn’t her first go-round with the streaming giant as she previously made Heartstrings for Netflix — a mini-series based on some of her most iconic songs. In 2015 she teamed up with NBC for the made-for-TV holiday movie Coat of Many Colors and its sequel, 2016’s Christmas of Many Colors. Oh and if you can’t wait for Christmas on The Square to premiere, you can listen to Parton’s holiday album A Holly Dolly Christmas — her first holiday album in 30 years, since 1990’s Home for Christmas — which is out now on Spotify and YouTube.

I for one cannot wait to force my family to watch Christmas on The Square this Thanksgiving. Thanks Dolly!
