Jason Momoa made a surprise shirtless appearance on SNL

Jason Momoa stopped by Saturday Night Live on October 26, 2019, for a quick and funny 15-second cameo. He brought the laughs, he brought his signature beachy hair, and he brought out his…nipples. Chance The Rapper served as both host and musical guest on the show and he did an amazing job, seriously. Chance killed it, but unfortunately, the poor guy was slightly overshadowed by Momoa’s surprise shirtless cameo, because who can upstage Momoa when his shirt is off?

Chance The Rapper played a judge in a sketch called “First Impressions Court,” a sort of Judge Judy-type parody. Chance is running through quickie court cases when Momoa shows up (to surprise and rapturous applause, naturally) with his hair all wind-swept and his blouse all ~loose~. Then, Kate McKinnon hobbles out in “old lady” gear and alleges that Momoa stole money from her. They go back and forth and then bam, Momoa is busting open his shirt and well…we’ll just let you experience that moment for yourself. Momoa shows up at the 3:29 mark.

Three words. Chandelier. Nipple. Rings.

The best part is how excited Momoa got about his 20-second cameo. After the episode aired, Momoa shared a dozen behind-the-scenes photos and videos online (shirtless and shirted) with the sweetest captions.

“As good as it gets for me. @nbcsnl The greatest show on earth I will always be a fan love to the amazing crew and cast I’m so grateful,” Momoa wrote on Instagram.

“Love u cast and crew forever so stoked to be invited back,” he added.

Momoa’s Instagram Stories from Saturday night are a trip too. From stepping onto the elevator to walking out the stage door, he documented the whole thing. At one point in the evening, Momoa ran into a room of unsuspecting writers and shouted, “I’m back, baby!”

Typically, it’s the guest host who gets all mushy after the show, but we’re obsessed with Momoa’s enthusiasm for SNL and his quickie cameo. It’s infectious. Look at this face! This is the face of a man who loves his life.
