KFC's Chicken-Scented Fire Log Is Here To Salvage 2020

What better way to close out this dumpster fire year than a house that smells of the Colonel’s finest?

You guys, this year sucks. I’m not even going to try to sugarcoat it. It’s been months of pandemic panic, scary headlines, cancelled events, social distancing, and an election that’s giving people actual anxiety. That’s why I have zero shame in admitting that I will be purchasing more than one of KFC’s chicken-scented fire logs for my own personal enjoyment, because what better way to close out the worst year imaginable than filling your home with the scent of Kentucky’s finest?

KFC shared the thrilling news this morning. “Back by popular demand. 11 Herbs & Spices Firelog from @envirologfire is here for the Holidays! Because it’s never too early to start shopping for your chicken-scented gifting needs,” they announced. The 11 Herbs and Spices log is available at Walmart and BRB, I’m buying a baker’s dozen to give out as Christmas gifts and to fill my own home with tasty chicken fumes.

Don’t feel like making a big Thanksgiving or Christmas feast? Strike a match and get the house scented like you’ve been cooking all day. Not sure if the fried chicken chain is open on those holidays, but if so, you could totally set up a DoorDash delivery if the log gets the entire family in the mood for crispy-skinned poultry and the best mashed potatoes on earth (don’t @ me).

But the log could totally just provide the ambience and comfort that most of this garbage fire year has been sorely lacking. If you’re as ready as I am to throw this entire 12 months into a fire, try throwing in a chicken log instead. Breathe it in. Understand that things can (hopefully) only get better from here.

I mean, who wouldn’t want a Kentucky-fried Christmas this year? It’s the ending 2020 truly needs, TBH.

“We hope you’ll cuddle up with your family or friends with a bucket of our world-famous fried chicken and a warm fried chicken-scented fire this holiday season,” said Andrea Zahumensky, KFC U.S. CMO in a news release.

Well twist my arm, Andrea — I will do both of these things possibly more than once this holiday season. In a year that’s already robbed us of so many pleasures, big and small, it feels like something we all deserve. The log sold out last year so if you’re into it, claim your tasty-smelling gift to yourself now for only $15.88.
