Inside KinderFarms’ Stand Against Parenting Overload
There's a certain irony to modern parenting: in order to be the best parents we can, we've somehow made childhood more complicated than it needs to be.

The color-coded schedules, the need for every activity to be an enrichment activity, and the constant comparison. The group chats where someone's always asking whether their three-year-old should be in a second language program. Somewhere between “kids need boredom” and “but have you seen that viral checklist for raising emotionally regulated children,” a lot of parents stopped trusting their instincts and started outsourcing them.
KinderFarms noticed. And instead of adding another product or another program to the pile, the children's wellness brand launched a campaign that says the quiet part out loud: kids deserve less.
Not less care, less love. But less noise, less pressure. And, when it comes to kids' wellness products, fewer ingredients that don’t belong.
A Philosophy That Predates The Campaign
KinderFarms has been building toward this argument since 2018, when it was founded by parents. Every product the brand makes, from its OTC children's medications to its electrolyte hydration drinks and powders, is formulated with exactly what kids need and nothing extra. No artificial dyes, no artificial sweeteners, and no artificial flavors. The electrolyte drinks from the brand are made specially for kids and have kid-loved flavors that help kids actually drink the water they need to stay hydrated.
"Kids Deserve Less" isn't a reframe. It's just the brand finally saying out loud what its products have been saying for years.
The campaign launched this year alongside a full brand redesign by Of One Kind: cleaner packaging, simpler graphics, and a visual identity that mirrors the philosophy. Less clutter on the label. More focus on what's actually in it.
The Great Unsubscribe
The first campaign pillar launched in January with a name that most parents will immediately recognize as overdue.
The Great Unsubscribe is a call for parents to opt out — not of parenting, but of the relentless stream of expectations, advice, and input that has made modern parenting feel like a performance. The kind of pressure that makes a quiet Saturday feel like a missed opportunity. The brand asked parents what they had unsubscribed from. The most common answer was all too relatable: Instagram-perfect lunches.
The UnHour
The second pillar is another form of embracing less, this one built around a simple truth any parent will recognize: when kids feel seen and connected, the whole day shifts.
The UnHour asks families to set aside one hour each day with no screens, no noise, no agenda. Just presence. To make the most of the UnHour, KinderFarms partnered with Devon Kuntzman, ICF-certified parenting coach and founder of Transforming Toddlerhood, to create The UnHour Toolkit: a free, zero-prep collection of simple activities and conversation starters so the connection happens on its own.
The goal isn't a picture-perfect afternoon. It's a smaller, calmer version of connection that doesn't require much at all.
"The UnHour is not about adding one more thing to your day," Kuntzman said. "It's about creating simple, screen-free moments of connection. It doesn't need to be perfect, and it doesn't even need to be an hour. What matters most is being present."
What Less Actually Looks Like
KinderFarms CEO Kristin Recchiuti put it plainly: "Modern parenting has sold the idea that more is always better. We don't believe that, and we never have."
That belief shows up in formulations free of artificial flavors, dyes, and sweeteners. It shows up in effective products that help sick kids feel some symptom relief, and active kids keep hydrated on hot days, so they can make the most of every moment. It shows up in packaging designed to be read, not just noticed. And it shows up in a campaign built around the one thing most parents actually want: permission to do a little less.
The campaign continues through the year, with additional pillars tied to the parenting calendar. But the through-line stays the same: kids don't need more. They need what actually matters.
KinderFarms products are available at major retailers and online. The UnHour Toolkit is free and available here.
