Rejoice, coffee-lovers, this frappuccino is decadent

Starbucks loves us so much it’s released a new holiday-themed drink that looks like it tastes like heaven. The Christmas Tree Frappuccino officially hit the menu today but hurry up and try it because it won’t be around for long.

The festive drink will only be available for a limited time — today through Monday to be exact. So head on down to Starbucks and drive your local barista nuts.

So what exactly is this fancy new holiday beverage? Glad you asked. It’s a peppermint mocha creme frappuccino topped with a matcha whipped cream tree that is decorated with caramel garland and cranberry ornaments. And on top is a cute, little strawberry star. How festive does that sound? Very festive.

This writer drove to two Starbucks early hoping she could convince a kind barista to make her one before the official launch. And it almost worked. But then the managers remembered that they’d have to make the special matcha whip cream and crushed my hopes and dreams. Guess I’ll just have to get in line like the rest of the coffee-loving, Christmas-obsessed customers.

Like it’s cousin the Unicorn Frappuccino, the Christmas Tree Frappuccino will only be available for five days. If you missed the chance to try the elusive unicorn drink, it was described by Starbucks as “a sweet dusting of pink powder, blended into a crème Frappuccino with mango syrup and layered with a pleasantly sour blue drizzle … finished with vanilla whipped cream and a sprinkle of sweet pink and sour blue powder topping.”

The Christmas frapp is only available until December 11 so don’t miss your chance to try the dessert drink, but also try not to stress out your favorite barista too much either.
