These Mothers Are Taking Back Their Neighborhood By Running

Brownsville has been called the most dangerous neighborhood in Brooklyn and the worst neighborhood to raise children, along with a host of other shocking designations. What it also has is a group of mothers determined to strengthen the community through running. This is no typical running group. Called “We Run Brownsville,” the group of women meets each week to share stories, offer personal support, and get active. For many of the members, it has been life-changing. This is their story.
