Madge the Vag sits down with pediatrician Dr. Gold, to find out how to deal with the touchy subject of kids and masturbation.

Yes, it’s completely normal for children, young and old, to be exploring their bodies. We, parents, first have to understand and accept that. It’s never too early. As early as 18 months, kids may be experimenting already. Talk to them about when and where it’s appropriate. So, it’s not about telling them to stop, but you do want to communicate to them when it’s ok. Set the ground rules. Don’t call them out on it and make them feel embarrassed, but make sure to set up the family rules. No more than 15 minutes in the shower!
