Chris Fischer wished wife Amy Schumer a happy 40th birthday by trolling her beautifully

Amy Schumer just turned 40 and in true Amy Schumer fashion, she had jokes about it. She shared video on her Instagram account yesterday to show the world her 40th birthday cake, delivered by husband Chris Fischer. The cake looked delicious but also included a hilarious message from Fischer.

“My 🎂 #40,” Schumer captioned a video of Fischer bringing her cake to her as she sat with toddler son Gene on her lap. Can we briefly praise the casual loungewear aesthetic on display here? Glad to see the pandemic brought my signature fashion to the forefront, even for the rich and famous. Ok, so the video is super cute and Schumer is surrounded by loved ones as Fischer walks over with her cake, a candle lit, everyone singing. Then, the camera zooms in on the message.

“I’m leaving you. This was the only way I could think to do it,” the cake reads. We then see Amy’s confused face.

LOL.

If you didn’t already know Schumer was, let’s just say, the joking type, you might think this is in poor taste and possibly a sign of a relationship in peril, but lol, no. This is extremely on-brand for the actress and the couple as a whole. Does anyone remember her hilarious NSDW baby shower cake from a few years ago? It’s kind of hard to unsee, so probably yes.

“My sister in law. And I can’t stress that enough IN LAW. surprised me with a horrifying cake and i can’t thank her enough. So I won’t thank her at all. @mofischhh something is truly wrong with you and i love you,” reads the caption. So yes, Amy Schumer definitely appreciates an off-color joke-style cake for pretty much any occasion.

As someone staring down the same very big birthday later this year, I’m currently struggling to find the humor in it so I’m very appreciative that Schumer and I were both 1981 babies so I can start gathering ideas and courage from her in feeling delight instead of dread at the big 4-0. She is, as always, lovable, hilarious, and relatable AF.
