Are you a tattoo enthusiast or looking to get your first tattoo? Then you need to know about ear tattoos. They’re cute, small and very on trend right now. And they’re great no matter where you are in your tattoo journey. If you already have a bunch and are looking for a new body part to display your body art, this is it. But if this is going to be your first and you’re looking for something unique and fun, the ear area seems like a good candidate.

Tattoos are a great form of self-expression, and they are small enough if you’re averse to giant tattoos and the time (and money) they consume.

Ear tattoos can make as bold or subtle a statement as you want. You can get a very simple image like a star or a delicate flower. Or you can go bold and do something intricate like spiderwebs or a tribal pattern. Plus, you don’t have to get it on your ear, you can also get it behind your ear and be just as cute, but a little sneaky.

Ear tattoos have been growing in popularity slowly over the last couple years. Celebrities like Rihanna and Cara Delevingne rock tiny designs on their inner ears. But the momentum has really been growing since early 2019.

“Ear tattoos are exploding right now — very trendy,” Isaac Jeffs, a tattoo artist in Vancouver, tells The Post.

I know what a lot of you are thinking, but isn’t it going to hurt? Duh, tattoos always hurt. There’s a needle literally drilling into your skin. But,the ear is mostly cartilage, so the pain may be less excruciating. Plus, ears are small, so the design isn’t going to be big, which means it’ll be quick. According to Jeffs, the ears are actually a good spot because they don’t fade easily. “The ear is actually quite easy to heal it seems,” he adds.
