Häagen-Dazs Makes Boozy Ice Cream Now
Summer is a lot more bearable now that ice cream has liquor in it
Quick — name the two things you need to make it through a triple-digit summer weekend day. If you answered booze and ice cream, you’re correct (and we should be friends).
And now, it’s a whole lot easier to get your fix of both, because Häagen-Dazs has combined them into several glorious summer treats. Our favorite indulgence now comes laced with liquor, and summer 2017 just became the best one we can remember.
Of course, boozy ice cream is nothing new. Treats spiked with Cabernet and rosé have been on the market for a while. But something about the insane, unrelenting heat of July just makes a girl need something a little stronger, and that’s where Häagen-Dazs comes in — their version is spiked with the hard stuff.
The Häagen-Dazs Spirits line currently has five flavors available: Rum Vanilla Caramel Blondie, Whiskey Chocolate Truffle, Irish Cream Coffee & Biscotti, Vodka Key Lime Pie, and Rum Ginger Cookie. According to Delish, they can be found at certain Walmart locations. But here’s the heartbreaking kicker: As of now, they’re only available in Canada. If that’s not an excuse for a north-of-the-border vacay this summer, we’re not sure what is.
The promising news is that everything good about Canada eventually makes its way down here (poutine, Drake, hopefully Justin Trudeau soon, etc., etc.), so we just have to bide our time until booze-infused ice cream becomes a treat we can enjoy stateside. In the meantime, we have some of our own options, like Winecream and Tipsy Scoop. While they’re small-batch, regional and therefore hard to get in most places, at least they are sold in the U.S., so if you’re really desperate, they can probably tide you over.
And, in case it’s something you’re interested in, here’s where you can send Häagen-Dazs some feedback, like “MAKE THIS AVAILABLE IN THE U.S. NOW PLEASE AND THANK YOU.”
