Khloé Kardashian’s new show ‘Revenge Body’ is a horrible idea

After her break-up with Lamar Odom, Khloé Kardashian turned to working out to cope. Naturally, her body transformation has inspired another show — because there’s no life event a Kardashian can’t exploit for money.

“I used to just accept the way people defined me,” she told Refinery 29 last March. “When people called me the fat sister, I’d say, ‘Yeah I’m big-boned.’ Whatever we do to laugh at things instead of [letting] them hurt you. And then, I slowly but surely took something really bad in my life or a stressful time, which was my divorce, and I turned it into a positive.”

The positive? Her new show, “Revenge Body.” It’s exactly what it sounds like: you transform your body to get “revenge” on someone you think wronged you. Vomit.

Look, I’m not a Kardashian-hater — I’m really not. Kudos to all of those women for figuring out how to be richer than god. Having spent a large portion of my past struggling with eating disorders, I do resent this show though. The concept of this show is garbage. And the messages Khloé is sending are so unbelievably unhealthy — in every way.

Let’s look at the stills she’s using to promote her show on Instagram, shall we?

“My fitness journey was for myself and myself alone.” Right. That’s why she created a show called “Revenge Body.” My god, how did she live with that size eight frame? Was she able to get in and out of the house okay, or did everyone had to come to her like the mom in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?

“Revenge body is deeper than a physical transformation. It is a spiritual and emotional transformation.” Oh, really? They must have just left that boring emotional and spiritual stuff out of the trailer. All we saw were people getting yelled at while they worked out and getting their eyebrows and make-up done. Oh, and there were some spandex dresses and mirror time. That was spiritual.

Seriously Khloé. How did you even look at yourself in the mirror back then? My god, that string bikini must be a size six. Gross.

All of these images are just — sad. There are plenty of women who know what it’s like to look in a mirror and have a body like that staring back at them — and truly believe they are fat. There was nothing wrong with Khloé Kardashian’s body before. Nothing. This whole thing is just promoting the most unhealthy message: unless you are wasting away, you’re simply not sexy. And what the hell is a “revenge body” anyway? Would you really want a partner back who wouldn’t be interested in you if you were 10, 20, even 30 pounds heavier?

Khloé Kardashian must not have had it easy growing up in a house full of gorgeous women. Somewhere along the lines, someone convinced her she wasn’t one of them — and that’s too bad. Because now we have “Revenge Body.”

And that’s truly depressing.
