The name means “sacred song”

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West became parents for the fourth time last week and they just revealed his name — Psalm West.

Kardashian announced the birth of her son via surrogate last Friday, tweeting, “Here’s here and he’s perfect!” She shared his name on Instagram, showing a text from her husband that read, “Beautiful Mother’s Day. With the arrival of our fourth child. We are blessed beyond measure. We have everything we need.”

Baby Psalm will join sisters Chicago, 15 months, North, five, and brother Saint, three, and according to Kardashian, Psalm already resembles one of his siblings. “He’s also Chicago’s twin lol I’m sure he will change a lot but now he looks just like her,” she wrote.

Reactions to the name have been mixed:

A Keeping Up with the Kardashians source told PEOPLE the couple came up with the name but wanted to make sure it fit him before telling people publically. “They have had a name in mind, but wanted to meet the baby before they decided.”

The name seems to follow Kanye’s recent gospel roots — he’s been performing “Sunday Service,” a weekly gathering at the couples Calabasas home for the past few months. He even performed one at Coachella this year with his own songs and gospel music with a live band and choir.

Kim’s surrogate went into labor while sister, Kourtney, and mom, Kris Jenner, were taping an episode of The Ellen Show with all the Kardashian kids. Kim was supposed to be in attendance but didn’t show for obvious reasons, so Kourt spilled the beans instead. “My mom doesn’t even know this,” she said. “But Kim’s surrogate went into labor, so she’s at the hospital.” Jenner was completely taken aback, saying “No! What are we even doing sitting here?! “Really? Who’s with her? For how long?”

Psalm joins the family just as his mom is studying to become a lawyer, beginning a four-year apprenticeship with a San Francisco law firm. She plans to take the bar in 2022, and we all know when she sets her mind to something, she doesn’t mess around.

Kardashian also recently helped release 17 prisoners, each convicted of life sentences without parole for low-level drug offenses, reuniting them with their families and giving them a chance at a future.

Psalm will have plenty of playmates to keep him company — Jenner has eight other grandkids, including his older siblings, to help keep him company and teach him the ropes. It sounds like, for now, he’s also got a perfect temperament. “I was freaking out for nothing because he is the most calm and chill of all of my babies so far,” she wrote. “Everyone loves him so much.”
