Little Boy’s Reunion With Long-Lost Dog Makes The Entire Internet Cry

by Elizabeth Licata

A video of a little boy being reunited with his lost dog is going viral and making the entire Internet cry.

There are few things in life more heartbreaking for a small child than the loss of a beloved pet, so it’s really easy for the world to sympathize with poor Kahne Williams from Texas. The 6-year-old’s beloved pet dog, Kase, disappeared a month ago and he thought he’d never see him again. Luckily, the boy and his dog found each other again this week, and their tearful reunion video is sweet enough to move the most hardened Internet troll to tears.

“On Dec. 4 our dog Kase went missing,” the boy’s mother, Paula Williams, told TODAY.com. “We let him outside to go to the bathroom and when we went to let him in he was gone. My son cried and we went searching up and down the street, but couldn’t find him.”

It was devastating for that little boy, who had picked out his dog as a puppy and was very attached to him.

“We’ve had pets since my son was born and he has grown up with them, but he’s never bonded with an animal like has with Kase,” Paula said. “… This was his dog. My son picked him out from the litter and from that day on he said that was his puppy.”

A month had passed after the dog’s disappearance, and the poor kid thought he’d never see his best friend again. The dog had been microchipped, but a microchip is not a GPS tracker. It only works if the dog is found and someone checks for the microchip with a scanner. To make matters worse, not long after the dog went missing, their area was hit by a terrible blizzard with over 20 inches of snow. The adults in the family worried the dog might not have survived.

But then one day in January, Paula Williams saw two girls get off a school bus in front of their house, and her son’s dog ran out to meet them.

“I saw two little girls get off [the school bus] and then saw Kase run up to them. So I pulled in and said, ‘That’s my son’s dog,’” Paula said.

The family said the dog had just shown up at their house one day, and he seemed like a nice dog, so they brought him inside and fed him and kept him warm. They also returned him once Paula showed up and recognized him as her son’s long-lost puppy.

This video is certainly tugging at the Internet’s heartstrings. It’s been viewed more than 5 million times, and shared more than 83,000 times. Everyone seems really happy that boy got his puppy back, especially the puppy himself.
