Meghan Trainor sets the record straight on exactly how many times she and husband Daryl Sabara have pooped side-by-side and now we can sleep at night

Earlier this week, we brought you the hard-hitting news that Meghan Trainor and her husband Daryl Sabara had a set of twin toilets in their bathroom. The admission brought up all kinds of feelings on social media with many in the world wondering — does the couple who poop together stay together? Lol JK. Actually people mostly just found it bizarre AF but no fear, y’all — Trainor just hit us with the update that they’re only shit together like one time. Relax everyone.

Miss “If I Was You I’d Wanna Poo Next To Me Too” set the record straight after sharing the double pooper info with the whole entire world. Like, calm down. It was just a one-time thing, guys. Also, she just misses him when he’s not around. “To clear things up…we pooped ONCE together and we laughed and said never again…but he will hang out with me if I’m 💩 cuz WE SOULMATES. And i legit miss him when I’m away from him. And we pee together obvi,” she tweeted.

The poop-date (update but about poop. Get it? I’m here every Friday, tip your server!) was actually in response to info originally shared by Trainor’s brother Ryan on Nicole Byer’s “Why Won’t You Date Me” podcast. “You guys are weirdos, bro,” Ryan said. “They poop together! She’s pooping and Daryl’s like, ‘I’m going to go hang out with you now!’”

Trainor tried justifying the bizarro two-toilets confession by explaining that it seemed the pair often had to do their business at the exact same time. “We just got a new house and we did construction — nobody knows this — but in our bathroom, there was one toilet,” she shared. “A lot of times in the middle of the night when we’re with the baby, we gotta pee at the same time. So I was like, ‘Can we please have two toilets next to each other?’”

Most parents would probably find that tidbit pretty relatable actually. Back when my husband and I were doing multiple newborn wakings a night, the last thing either one of us wanted to do was wait to pee before going to answer the screaming baby alarm across the hall. If you have the money and desire, who is anyone to question it?

Of course, Twitter questioned it. They had thoughts on the original info and on this little poop press release too.

FYI, Trainor herself retweeted this amazingly romantic GIF.

Some folks were like, no one asked?

But also, who even cares if they do?

Some thought it possibly a bridge too far in the quest for marital closeness.

While others found it to be the ultimate proof that true love exists.

Anyone who’s been married awhile shouldn’t be too prudish about this TBH. My husband helped me with the night-before-c-section bowel prep not once, but twice. The mystery is gone and has been for many years and we are perfectly fine with it but I guess I would probably draw the line at literally pooping within inches of each other. Just. No. No thank you, please.

But whatever works for Trainor and her hubs is fine by us. Just know that if you share info about double poopers in your house, the internet will have opinions on it. Looks like the couple is taking it in stride. Possibly while peeing next to each other and scrolling their phones.
