You will love everything about this story because it’s hilarious and relatable

This is one of those stories that will either have you saying, “yep, totally something I would do” or have you conjuring up which one of your friends would do the exact same thing this woman did. What did she do, you ask? She wore an adorable black and white striped skirt to work — except it wasn’t a skirt, exactly, so much as it was a car seat cover.

Lori Farrell, a mom-to-be and blogger, shared her adorable and hilarious wardrobe mishap on Facebook yesterday and it immediately began going viral. You’ll soon see why.

“If you feel like a failure today, just know that I wore a car seat cover a friend gave me because I thought it was a skirt,” she writes on Facebook.

LOL. This is honestly just as cute and relatable as it is laugh-out-loud funny.

So how did it happen? Well, it all began with a bag of baby girl clothes. Farrell is expecting a baby girl, and when one of her friends found out, she decided to donate a bag of her own baby girl’s things to her pal.

“She gave me a ton of stuff from baby clothes, to a Rock-and-Play and baby carriers and shoes and so much more,” Lori tells Scary Mommy. “When I pulled this out I was not sure what it was but concluded it must be a skirt because it had what I thought was ruching on the sides.”

And honestly, who wouldn’t conclude that very same thing? I’ve already had a child and I probably wouldn’t have any idea that was a car seat cover unless someone told me. When your friends who are already parents find out you’re expecting your first child, everyone’s Marie Kondo Instinct kicks into high gear as they all decide their children’s hand-me-downs will spark joy for you.

I can’t tell you how many bags of random clothing and baby items I politely accepted from no less than half a dozen people. And yes, there was always a random item or two in there that left me scratching my head.

Lori decided to wear the cute skirt to work, because hey, free skirt! “Finally went to wear it today since it was a warmer day and thought it was odd that the tag was in the front,” she says. “I thought it was a cute outfit anyway so I just turned the tag to the back.”

“Then when I got to work I was laughing with a coworker about it and decided to google the brand and realized they did not in fact even sell clothing.”

Uh, no. They do not. The company is “Itzy Ritzy” and they sell tons of aesthetically-pleasing accessories for new moms. Just not skirts.

To be perfectly fair, though, who among us wouldn’t wear clothes that look like that though? Those aren’t your average car seat covers (or any other baby-themed item, for that matter)! They’re stylish and cute.

Sending Lori many thanks for the LOLs and best wishes to her and her husband for a healthy, happy life with their little one.
