When a pregnant woman received zero affirmative RSVP’s to her baby shower, her best friend had an idea. He’s a member of the Reddit community and decided to make a request post to see if anyone would step in to make his friend feel better about her day:

“I went to her registry on Walmart today and it has 0 items purchased so far. She’s obviously upset that no one RSVP’d for her baby shower and because I’m the only one attending and I was hoping Reddit would be able to help cheer her up.

Her registry items range from $0.97 bottles all the way up to a $27 Nursery monitor. I know a few random acts of kindness would really make her day this Sunday.”

Within days Bailey Bealefield had received 15 gifts from members of the online community. Most of the items on her Walmart registry had to be purchased in store, so one Redditor recommended she make a Amazon wish list baby registry. As of right now, all 92 of the 93 items on the registry have been purchased. And the 93rd item is an Amazon gift card, which has probably been purchased several times over.

According to Yahoo Parenting, Bealefield’s friend surprised her with the massive amount of gifts. It took several cars to transport the packages to her home. Her in-laws and friends led her outside and this is what she saw:

And there was plenty more where that came from. There was a full postal truck in the driveway. Bealfield did a follow up post on Reddit to show all the gifts she received:

It was a shot in the dark – and it worked. There were so many people who jumped at the opportunity to make this mom-to-be’s day. Also, registries aren’t just about making someone feel good. It’s so essential for many women to get the kind of financial help a registry brings. This mom is stocked up and ready.

See… the internet isn’t so bad.
