We’ve all been there

Pink continues on her quest (OK, maybe not a quest, just living her life, but whatever) to be the most relatable celebrity mom with her latest parenting-related Instagram post. This time, it’s about the terrible chore that is pumping breast milk.

And the reward that awaits her at the end.

Moms and wine and wine and moms — we go together like peas and carrots, am I right? Pink seems to think so if her latest Instagram photo is any indication.

“When you’re almost done pumping and you know what’s next,” she writes.

The image shows Pink triumphantly holding up a bottle of something red and delicious while the pumping shields fused to her breasts do their thing.

That look in her eye says it all. Awww yissssss, that sweet, sweet moment when the last few squirts of milk splash into your pumping containers and you’re staring down a small chunk of time where you can actually drink some wine before the next pump or feed.

It’s not the first time she’s shared a behind-the-scenes pumping pic with her fans. This mom is all about keeping it real with those of us chained to the milk machine. And we love her for it.

Obviously, Pink is somewhat of a pro by now, considering baby boy Jameson is her second child (daughter Willow is six) and she’s always been an outspoken supporter of breastfeeding. So at this point, she’s probably got her own system worked out for when it’s OK for her to nurse again post-adult beverage. According to Kelly Mom, a breastfeeding mother should wait two hours to nurse or pump again after having ingested two drinks (2 oz liquor, 8 oz wine, or 2 beers.)

Of course, consult your physician with any questions about drinking as it relates to your pumping and nursing schedule. From my own experience, I erred on the way paranoid side, to the point where I hardly drank at all for fear my baby would unexpectedly wake and need to be fed while I’m wine’d up (he wouldn’t take bottles, naturally).

Obviously, Pink knows what’s up with her own little dude’s schedule, and if she’s away from him and just pumping to keep up supply, than there’s zero concern he will need her shortly after that glorious first sip anyway.

Ah, freedom.

Pink has long been a champion of breastfeeding in general, and it’s refreshing to see her continuing to keep it real when it comes to that much-deserved glass of wine after the final evening pump. Cheers to her and all the mommas shackled to the Medela tonight, awaiting their moment to shine.
