The cast reunited for the first table read for And Just Like That…

The upcoming Sex and The City revival, And Just Like That…, isn’t so “upcoming” anymore because the cast has been posting behind-the-scenes snaps on social all day. Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and co, reunited for a table read on June 11, 2021, and shared secretive snaps from the set, including a sneak peek at Carrie’s West Village apartment and some of the fashion we can expect from the upcoming reboot. And Just Like That…our girls are back!

Parker, who also shared that she was “thrilled and terrified” to be shooting the new series, posted a photo with her pals Nixon and Davis.

“Together again,” SJP wrote. “Read through our first episodes. Alongside all the fellas and our newest cast members. Like an ice cream sundae.”

Parker also shared photos of everyone’s scripts from the table read.

The night before the table read, SJP shared a photo from outside Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic West Village apartment, writing, “AND JUST LIKE THAT, we find ourselves on this street called Perry the night before it all begins again.”

Davis shared her own set of photos from inside their new wardrobe room where she shared glimpses of some new accessories (so many hats), clothing (a feminist tee, natch), and an old-fave (Charlotte’s “cupcake purse” from the film), because it’s not a Sex and the City reboot without aggressively aspirational fashion, right?

Davis wrote on Instagram that all credit for this reboot is due to SJP and writer Michael Patrick King, who hustled and kept the spirit of the show alive in order to make this new series happen.

“It’s really a small miracle to be back together and with the most remarkable new additions to our cast,” Davis wrote.

Also, we now know that joining the ladies in And Just Like That… are the iconic men of Sex and the City, which includes Mario Cantone (Anthony Marentino), David Eigenberg (Steve Brady), Willie Garson (Stanford Blatch), Evan Handler (Harry Goldenblatt), and Chris Noth (Mr. Big).

Plus, the original cast joins new cast member Sara Ramírez (Grey’s Anatomy), who will play the character of Che Diaz, a non-binary, queer standup comedian who hosts a popular podcast that Carrie appears on.

The new cast members will help tell the story of Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte as they continue to navigate love and friendship in their 50s. Of course, the filming of the 10-episode series will move forward without the fourth OG character, Samantha Jones, played by Kim Cattrall.

“We’re not looking to create a fourth character. We have New York City as the fourth character,” SJP previously told TMZ. “There will be lots of interesting, new characters we are super excited about.”

No release date has been set as of yet, but these new set photos are giving us serious hope. And just like that…they’re already filming the reboot.
