Kids do all kinds of weird and awesome things when they think no one is watching. Heck, they do weird and awesome things even when we are watching. Thanks to video surveillance footage, the parents of a 6-year-old boy in Florida were able to see just how weirdly awesome their son’s antics are. And thanks to social media and the power of the Interwebs, we’re able to smile and laugh along with them.

According to Good Morning America, Cody Wray, who owns an IT security company, decided to check the camera’s footage after noticing it was unplugged. But instead of finding hours of tape recording an empty and quiet house — or maybe even a sneaky mouse scampering across the kitchen floor — Wray found his 6-year-old son, Dylan, tearing it up in the middle of the night. The boy does cartwheels. He jumps of the couch and does somersaults. He punches the couch again and again and again. In other words, he does everything his parents don’t allow him to do during the day.

Wray shared the video on Facebook and the Internet has gone wild. In fact, the good people of the Internet are flipping over this video just as much as young Dylan is flipping in the video. One commenter said, “I love this…as my mom used to say ‘He is full of pee & vinegar’…lol.” Another person said, “Has to be one of my favorite posts of the week.”

Commenters also offered a few reasons for his nighttime pouncing. “He’s just practicing his ninja skills… and you know they can only train at night,” said one person.

Watch for yourself, and just try not to fall in love. Go ahead; I’ll wait.

According to ABC News, Dylan had told his parents that he gets up at “like 2 a.m. sometimes,” but they just dismissed it as a 6-year-old’s wild exaggerations. Because, you know, kids are weird and awesome and they can’t tell time. His parents never thought that when he said “like 2 a.m.” he meant “literally 2 a.m.”

As hilarious as this budding gymnast-slash-ninja’s moves are, perhaps the best part of the video is Dylan’s reaction when he finds out that he might be caught. He sees the video camera and in an attempt to destroy all evidence of his exploits, he unplugs the video camera — but not before it captures his mug shot. If only unplugging were enough to erase the tape’s footage, Dylan wouldn’t have gotten caught — and we wouldn’t be able to enjoy this little gem:

“Every time we watch it’s still hysterical,” Wray told ABC News. “You want to be mad at him since he’s jumping on our brand new couches, but he’s just so cute.”

Regardless of whether Dylans’ middle-of-the-night shenanigans were off-limits or not, we have to give him props for his mad skills, smooth moves, and deft (albeit slightly delayed) awareness that he was being videotaped. You might have been busted, Dylan, but we have no doubt that your joie de vivre will get you far.
