Someone 'Leaked' Video Of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Dancing To Smear Her -- It Didn't Work

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez danced once in college and apparently, someone thought this was a bad thing?

When you’re a captivating, brilliant, strong, funny, young, and bold woman in power, there’s a certain subset of humanity (*cough cough* GOP white dudes) who feel weirdly threatened. Ever since Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez won her election to Congress, critics (*cough cough* GOP white dudes) have gone out of their way to try to take the wind out of her sails and in doing so, they’ve only made her stronger.

The latest example of their failed attempts at tarnishing her image might be the best — someone “leaked” video of Ocasio-Cortez in college doing some downright adorkable dancing — quelle horreur, right?

Footage of the brand-new Bronx congresswoman from her college days, gleefully busting some of Ally Sheedy’s moves from The Breakfast Club, surfaced yesterday as Ocasio-Cortez was being sworn into office. As though happily dancing were somehow… wrong? Or unappealing?

Quite the opposite. She’s 1000 percent adorable and perfectly dorky.

We cannot even handle how cute this is.

Some (dumb) and totally misguided soul apparently thought the emergence of this DAMNING video would somehow doom her. Instead, it’s done the polar opposite — Twitter immediately responded with praise for the new congresswoman — and laughs at whoever tried to “shame” her by proving she’s… extremely fun and likable? Relatable? Wholesome AF? Like, what exactly about this is supposed to upset us?

What out-of-touch stooge thought this was anything other than extremely endearing?

Also, this. The hypocrisy and double standards, while not at all surprising in this terrible time we’re living in, are astounding. A man in power can be absolutely terrible — criminal even. A woman in power can’t even dance without getting shit for it.

To defend a president who admitted to sexually assaulting women on tape and then turn around and vilify a young woman FOR DANCING is literally baffling. How do they even take themselves seriously?

They’re literally nothing but aging schoolyard bullies.

Luckily, Ocasio-Cortez seems completely immune to the nonsense and focused on doing her job — as all of the politicians who can’t stop messing with her should be.
