Prank Expectant Moms With The 'Birthie Stick' This Holiday Season
‘Childbirth isn’t something you want to keep to yourself,’ the Birthie Stick packaging reads
If you’re anything like me, you aren’t even close to finished with your gift shopping this holiday season. And, if you’re anything like me, you’re also looking for the perfect gift for the moms-to-be in your life. Lucky for you, we found just that: the Birthie Stick.
The Birthie Stick is a hands-free selfie stick – to use while giving birth. According to the box, you can get the “mountain hardware” in either blue, pink, or black, if you “choose not to reinforce gender stereotypes”.
When your water breaks, be sure to log on to the “HouseCall app,” too; that’s when a board-certified obstetrician will walk you through the delivery process “from the comfort of, well, anywhere!”
“Childbirth isn’t something you want to keep to yourself,” the packaging reads. “The Birthie Stick was designed to provide steady, high-quality video of the blessed event using just a smartphone. So friends, family, and followers can enjoy a close-up perspective of your baby’s emergence from the womb. Content doesn’t get any fresher!”
It doesn’t start and end with the Birthie Stick, though. There’s also Birthie Stick Extreme, which can be used for skateboard videos, unboxing videos, twerking videos, travel videos, and bungee jump videos, internet reaction videos, “dental cleaning videos,” and “laundry pod-eating videos.”
The best part? It’s all a prank.
The Birthie Stick is merely an eco-friendly box made of 100 percent recyclable cardboard to stuff your actual gift (though, it’d be hilarious if this product actually existed).
“Diapers, pacifiers and blankets at baby showers are so boring unless they’re wrapped in a Birthie Stick prank gift box!” the product description states.
“I got this prank box (Birthie Selfie) for a baby shower present. The mother to be opened in front of everyone having no clue and it was so much fun to see a reaction from all the guests!” one Amazon reviewer wrote this month. “The box is not so big, but luckily for me it was perfect for the tiny baby clothing that I gifted. I wish there were different sizes available.”
Prank-O are the creators behind the Birthie Stick, and the company’s CEO got his start at The Onion, so you know the team knows exactly how to make people laugh. In fact, Prank-O’s website claims its pulled more than 19.4 million pranks.
“We pride ourselves on our incredible attention to detail,” Prank-O’s website states. “We’ve thought of everything from the ridiculous fictional product itself, to the hilarious images and detailed product description. This box will have any recipient truly convinced that you just gave them the most bizarre gift of all time… but it’s just a fake present box.”
Want a prank box for the new moms in your life? Prank-O also sells the Baby Shield, a hilarious idea where moms wear a pair of black, laboratory-grade rubber gloves attached to crystal-clear panel keeping them from baby’s… surprises.
“Baby Shield protects you from the unexpected squirts and spurts that sloppy infants emit,” the box reads. “Its clear plastic screen allows you to savor every precious moment with your baby – while blocking those unsavory smells and secretions.”
Happy pranking!
