Candice Swanepoel has words for those criticizing her body only days after having her second child

A literal Victoria’s Secret Angel, mere days after having her second child, felt the need to come out against those who had problems with her (gorgeous) postpartum body. Model and mom Candice Swanepoel’s clapback is perfect and one all moms need to hear.

Yes sports fans, 2018 is awful enough that even women 12 days out from giving birth have to take shit for their appearance, but Candice Swanepoel, mother of two and absolute bad ass who takes no shit, took to her Instagram stories to shut down anyone complaining over her post-baby body in a bikini.

“This is me 12 days after having my son. If you have something bad to say about it… check yourself. Society can be so cruel to one another. Beauty standards are sometimes impossible for women these days. I’m not ashamed to show my post-partum tummy. I am proud actually… I carried my son for 9 months in there, I think I’ve earned the right to have a little tummy, is it because I’m a model? Well we are normal people too so let me enjoy the beach in peace please.”

In a second shot, one where she’s still pregnant and looking completely fucking glorious, she hits back even more.

“I don’t have to hide my stomach just because people have unrealistic standards of woman. We create life.. what can you do? Ladies we are all in this together be kind to each other.”

Hell. Yes.

While it’s not clear exactly where Swanepoel took heat from assholes who would dare pick apart a postpartum mom’s body in a bathing suit, there’s no doubt that certain people feel the need to be that hateful. Her most recent post includes negative comments with one special individual likening her to a whale. Another had issues with her “cellulite” to which I say, WHAT CELLULITE? And even if she did have any, what’s wrong with that?

Luckily, Swanepoel doesn’t let the garbage people of the internet get her down.

No matter what the shamers say, she shares bump pics and even nursing photos, another thing the internet enjoys tearing moms apart for doing.

Because none of this is anything to be ashamed of.

Yes, she’s an actual lingerie model, but as she points out (but shouldn’t have to point out), models are human too. No woman deserves any body-shaming ever left alone in the weeks and months after having a baby. Kudos to Swanepoel for speaking out and defending bikini-wearing mommas everywhere.
