Christine Blasey Ford still hasn’t been able to return home since coming forward with allegations that Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her

Christine Blasey Ford’s life is ruined. It’s completely damn ruined, just because she tried to help save this stupid country from itself.

According to a statement from one of Dr. Ford’s lawyers, she and her family are still in hiding. They still haven’t been able to return to their home, as Ford continues to receive ‘unending’ death threats.

“This has been terrifying. Her family has been through a lot,” attorney Debra Katz told reporters. “They are not living at home. It’s going to be quite some time before they’re able to live at home. The threats have been unending. It’s deplorable. It’s been very frightening.”

If y’all don’t mind, I’ll just be over here continuously screaming forever until men stop asking why women don’t come forward to report it when they’re assault. This. Is. Fucking. Why.

And as if Ford hasn’t been through enough already, the threats against her are being stoked by the actual President of the United States, who gave a speech on Monday calling Ford’s testimony “a hoax” and lamenting the way Brett Kavanaugh’s life has been ruined because of it.

“The way they really tortured him and his family, I thought it was a disgrace,” Trump said. “I thought it was one of the most disgraceful performances I have ever seen. So I have been hearing that, that now they’re thinking of impeaching a brilliant jurist, a man that did nothing wrong, a man that was caught up in a hoax, that was set up by the democrats. Using the democrats’ lawyers…It was all made up. It was fabricated. And it’s a disgrace. I think it’s going to really show you something come November 6th.”

In addition to that garbage, Trump has been tweeting to stoke his base, who are definitely the people making Dr. Ford’s life a living hell, because who the hell else would it be?

Let me just remind everyone at this moment that Kavanaugh was confirmed to the Supreme Court. He has remained safely in his home where his wife has cheerfully handed out baked goods to reporters. Even if he hadn’t been confirmed, he would have gone back to serving on a slightly lower federal court. But OK, assholes, tell us all about how his life is “ruined.”

So we now live in this country where an incredibly brave women spoke the truth about her sexual assault (which Trump called “very credible” literally days ago), and that woman has now been chased from her home and caused to fear for her life, while the president publicly humiliates and bullies her — and the man she’s accused to assault now holds a lifetime appointment on the highest court in the land.

This is where we live. Congrats, America. If this is “great again,” I want nothing to do with it.
