Last night’s Emmy Awards made for some incredible “gold” carpet looks
Last night, the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards happened — and so did a whole lot of jaw-dropping lewks. Hosted by Michael Che and Colin Jost (no women? Mmmk.) the awards brought out everyone’s best on the golden carpet, but some slayed more than others. You’re welcome for bringing the highlights all in one place.
First up is This Is Us star Chrissy Metz looking like a damn dream in emerald green. Also, I need that purple clutch.
Speaking of This Is Us leading ladies, Mandy Moore stunned in a coppery, sparkly, custom Rodarte gown. I need to spend some time with these women and learn how to dress, please and thanks.
Aidy Bryant’s sequined Tanya Taylor dress is absolutely ethereal and I want it immediately.
As long as we’re having a convo on sparkles, feast your eyes on Insecure star Issa Rae’s non-dress Vera Wang outfit that simply stole the show.
OK, I was lying, Sandra Oh’s red gown is also a major contender for the “All Eyes On Me (And Rightly So)” award. There’s also the fact that she’s the first Asian actor to be nominated for her role in Killing Eve.
Let’s not forget the kiddos who came and conquered the carpet — look at jubilant and adorable Millie Bobby Brown having the time of her life in a millennial pink Calvin Klein number. As she should.
Constance Wu brought the fierceness in a Jason Wu gown in a shimmery pewter.
Supporting Actress nominee Alexis Bledel was simply angelic springtime in her floor-skimming pink and yellow confection.
But all the colors were brought by Tiffany Haddish who donned a gorgeous Prabal Gurung rainbow-hued dress that was actually a nod to her father’s Eritrean heritage (the gown is the colors of the Eritrean flag.)
Annnd on to the best-dressed couples of the evening. We can’t do a best-dressed couples list and not start off with Chrissy Teigen (*ahem* TIE-gen) and John Legend.
But host Colin Jost and his date Scar-Jo also brought the smolder.
However, Jimmy Kimmel and wife Molly McNearney looked freaking amazing on a night out sans babies.
And here’s Allison Janey bringing enough stun for 14 people in her raspberry-hued, sequined Prabal Gurung. Good Lord, she is gorgeous and ageless.
And because I always enjoy ending on a super high note and SPEAKING OF women who never age, behold: Angela Good God Damn Bassett. Is she even real? She’s 60. This is simply magic and I won’t accept any other explanation. Thank you and goodnight.
