The women in the groom’s family all wore white to “test” his wife on their wedding day

A 33-year-old dude recently kicked out a number of female family members from his wedding when they hatched a plan to wear white dresses and upstage his new wife at their wedding in some sort of toxic hazing ritual and now the groom is asking the internet, “Am I the asshole?” Sir, you are not.

The groom starts off by describing how the women in his family “test” new girlfriends before fully welcoming them into the family.

“They’ve formed a unit and they’d tease and roast every new woman that enters the family by marriage by setting up ‘tests’ to see if they deserve to be part of the family,” the groom explained on Reddit. “Or [they] roast their looks and styles to the point of breaking confidence and self-esteem down. Then after a few months of teasing they’d announce that they’ve finally welcomed them into the family.”

Despite this bizarre family unit, the couple moves forward with their wedding and learns that “there was talk about the women in the family wanting to pull a prank on my wife by wearing white and called it the ‘ultimate test’ to see how my wife react.” First of all, these women are sociopaths. Like, the engineers of the Squid Game, sociopaths. But let’s see how the story plays out.

The groom tells the women that if they show up to the wedding in white and plan to do their so-called “prank,” he would remove them from the wedding.

The women in the family assure him they will do no such thing. But the wedding rolls around and sure enough, all the women show up in white dresses, so the groom does what he promised he would do and tells every single one of the ladies in white to leave the wedding. A scene ensues.

“I felt absolutely awful because my wedding was being interrupted by them making scenes. My wife was hurt beyond measure but the women in the family were pissed,” the groom shared on Reddit. “My cousin blasted me on social media later saying I excluded all the women from the wedding because my wife was so insecure she couldn’t handle another woman’s presence at her wedding.”

Someone wore a pale pink dress to my wedding that in the dark light of the night actually looked like a white dress, and honestly, it looked pretty similar to my own dress. Is that fine? Sure. It happens. But a pack of women orchestrating a cruel hazing ritual wherein they all wear white dresses to a new family member’s wedding? What the actual fuggg?

The groom says that his mom insists it was “just a prank” to see if his new bride was a “bridezilla” because they wanted to protect him from marrying someone they didn’t like??? Question mark??? “The women claim that there’s nothing hurtful in what they do because they claimed they’re just looking out for us men and that their goal ultimately is to make sure the women who enter the family are decent.” Ah yes, the old, “treat other women horribly to protect the men in the family” line. **I’m literally screaming**

The best comment on Reddit was from a person who opened with, “your family is toxic.” ‘Nuff said. To be honest, the question is not whether or not the husband is “an asshole,” but whether or not this new bride even wants to join this family. Respectfully? It’s a yikes from me, dawg!
