Halsey got candid about how they feel in their skin post-pregnancy

Halsey is opening up about their postpartum body after the singer gave a stunning performance on Saturday Night Live this past Saturday.

The artist got candid about the compliments she’s since received since appearing on the show, saying she’s a notorious “over sharer” but wanted to set the record straight on their postpartum body since having baby Ender in July.

“I am posting this because no matter what I do people are going to talk about my body,” they started. “It is confusing symptom of being in the public eye so rather than complain I am going to give you something real to talk about!”

She talked about her appearance on SNL and said people were quick to compliment her on her post-baby body. “That was a weird feeling,” they explained. “My body has felt like a stranger’s for a long time. I uphold myself to honesty to the point of over sharing sometimes but this feels important.”

They went on to show a series of pictures in a reel, saying the first was several days after Ender was born. “A lot of people don’t know that you still look pregnant for a while after,” she said, showing her swollen belly. They also explained that their body, even now, is changing and she’s letting it.

“I have no interest in working out right now. I’m too tired and too busy playing with my darling son,” the singer, who released their fourth album in August, continued. “With that being said, the body behind all those compliments the other night was wearing a custom tailored outfit and lighted perfectly after much testing, so I could feel good and do my job.”

Her rawness about how she is feeling as a new working parent is refreshing, and they went on to say they want to make sure other people don’t feel pressure to look a certain way after giving birth. “I do not want to feed the Illusion that you’re meant to feel and look ‘great’ immediately postpartum. That is not my narrative currently. If you’ve been following me because you’re also a parent and you dig what I’m doing, please know I’m in your corner.”

She also let fans know that she won’t have her “pre baby body back” because they had a baby and will be changed forever. “In the spirit of honesty, I’m really tired and not a superhuman and this is really hard,” she ended the post. “Doing my best to serve my art and my family whilst keeping it all so very real.”
