Lipslut is donating 100% of their proceeds to help fight for reproductive rights
It’s been an awful, awful week for women’s reproductive rights. Alabama signed a law that makes abortion a felony, even if the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest. Kentucky, Georgia, Mississippi, and Ohio have also recently introduced bans on abortions once a heartbeat has been detected.
If you’re looking for ways to help, we’d like to turn your attention to Lipslut, a socially conscious lipstick company that’s currently donating 100% of their proceeds to organizations that fight for reproductive freedom. The company’s founder, Katie Sones, tells Scary Mommy why Lipslut wants to help. “Seeing the safety, rights, and autonomy of millions of women being stripped is quite frankly a waking nightmare. I don’t want myself or anyone else to live in a world where we’re not in control of our own bodies.” Pucker up and get ready to fight back.
Lipslut is raging a war against injustice, one berry red pout at a time. They have a slew of very topical shades, including “F*ck Trump,” “F*ck Kavanaugh,” and “Notorious R.B.G.” Usually, 50 percent of their proceeds go to charities. From now until May 24, though, they’re donating 100 percent of the proceeds from “F*ck Trump” lipsticks to organizations fighting for reproductive rights.

Given the recent bans, we added a “KEEP ABORTION SAFE” option at checkout for all orders of F*ck Trump. Through next week, 100% of earnings from “KEEP ABORTION SAFE” orders will be donated to organizations that provide reproductive healthcare, work to make abortion more accessible, and fight to take down unfair laws. #KeepAbortionSafe #KeepAbortionLegal #FuckTrump
Organizations that Lipslut will donate their proceeds to include Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice America, NNAF, and the Yellowhammer Fund.
NNAF focuses on helping women attain abortion procedures by removing “financial and logistical barriers to abortion access by centering people who have abortions and organizing at the intersections of racial, economic, and reproductive justice.” NARAL is there to “fight for reproductive freedom for every person in every state.” Planned Parenthood is crucially important for women to access reproductive healthcare, birth control, and safe abortion procedures. The Yellowhammer Fund is on the ground in Alabama and provides financial support for women who are struggling to afford travel, lodging, and other expenses related to abortions.
To make matters even more amazing Lipslut will also donate 100 percent of proceeds from ALL of their products to these very worthy organizations, site-wide through May 24th.
Okay, so what can you expect from your new lip shade – aside from the fact that it’ll help fight for women to have control over their bodies? Well, it’s a matte liquid lipstick in a pretty nude pink. It’s also made with Vitamin E and coconut oil (helloooo moisture) and promises to stay put all day long. Also, the packaging is A+.
If you’re having a hankering to buy even more lipstick with an activist edge, we’d like to also introduce you to “F*ck Kavanaugh,” which packs a deep red punch.
Or, go with the “Notorious RBG” shade, which is a gorgeous berry red and will remind you of a woman who is beyond resilient, a fierce defender of women, and has many, many people willing to donate their vital organs in order to keep her healthy.
In addition to contributing to Lipslut’s incredible mission, there are a few more places that deserve lots of support for fighting hard for reproductive rights including a few local organizations in states affected by the laws, like Gateway Women’s Access Fund in Missouri and Mississippi’s Jackson Women’s Health Organization.
Here’s to a hopefully very short and very successful fight.
