Working out isn’t my favorite thing, but it’s also not the worst either. I find that hitting the gym can feel like watching paint dry so a year ago I decided I would do my best to avoid gyms and instead run outside, take up yoga, and attend some spin classes. Switching up my routine has kept me motivated. If you’re anything like me your mind always says burrito but your heart is like, no, go for a run.

Ah, the struggles abound.

But the key to keeping my routine — something that really is important to me — was starting my day putting on my workout gear. When I didn’t do this, I slacked off because my clothes said couch instead of downward dog. Now I have these workout outfits that match, and it’s slightly embarrassing that I’m this coordinated, but whatever it takes to get you moving, right?

I never thought about how important socks are when working on your fitness. About two months into my runs and after my feet were sliding around in my shoes causing blisters, I switched up my sock game and it’s made more of a difference than I expected.

Sometimes Instagram ads really do speak to you, and that’s how I found Bombas — a New York-based company that nerds out on sock technology. Bombas socks are the comfiest, cushion-iest, won’t-make-your-feet-sweat socks that may have been woven from the heavens. They are workout affirming and feel like you’ve wrapped your feet in joy.

Once I bought my first two pairs of Bombas socks, I started noticing their devotees were everywhere — hitting the running trail near my house I counted two, at my spin class I noticed at least three people, and even at my coffee spot I noticed one. It’s not that I know these people, but I did feel like we were a part of a secret society of comfortable feet.

Socks are the only thing Bombas makes so they’re really passionate about making them AWESOME. They’ve honed in on seven comfort areas and built their designs around addressing each one of them. Think: the blister tab at the ankle so your socks don’t slip inside your shoe, there’s extra cushion at the heel, and moisture-wicking fibers mean your feet stay dry all day and don’t stink up your gear bag. Plus, look at ALL that tread. As a yogi, you don’t want to be sliding into face-plant pose.

And it’s important for me to mention Bombas is a socially conscious company that knows the most requested clothing item in homeless shelters is socks. Which is why the company donates a pair of socks for every pair purchased — they’ve donated more than 11 million. So it just feels good to know you’re supporting a company that recognizes a need and tries to do good.

Bombas socks come in a range of colors, styles, and fits for women, men, and even kids. If you have an athlete at home, give Bombas ALL your money. The purity of air instead of teen stank feet invading your home is worth ALL the paper. For tiny humans, their Sesame Street collection is adorbs. Plus, if your kid tears or outgrows their socks, Bombas will send a new pair. If you’re wondering what I wear during yoga, it’s Grippers and then Ankles for everything else.

So thank you, Bombas, for helping keep my feet comfy and my fitness vicious.

Bombas’ goal is to make socks that feel better than anything you’ve ever put on your feet. Plus, for every pair purchased, one is donated to someone in need. Bombas is comfort, evolved.
