SpongeBob Squarepants stands out amongst the rest. We’ve always loved him, and we always will, which is why it’s so hard to believe that the Nickelodeon cartoon has been around since July of 1999. From SpongeBob’s quirky ways to his lovable laugh, it’s hard (like, downright impossible) to hate on this porous dude. And his friends (Krabs, Patrick, and Squidward) are pretty cool, too.
Fast-forward to now, and kids of 2020 are still so in awe of the silly, full-of-life sponge who lives in (the same) pineapple under the sea. Luckily, the supply of SpongeBob toys and memorabilia has continued to evolve. From SpongeBob figures and playsets to wall decals and personality-packed socks, there’s no shortage of SpongeBob goodness to go around.
Good news: Now your kiddos can show their love for SpongeBob from their head to their toes. Because you’re a cool mom, of course, you already know that anything from Happy Socks is the bomb dot com. Peep this fun 4-pack gift box featuring special edition SpongeBob Squarepants socks that will look just as fly with jammies as high-top sneakers (or even a fugly pair of Crocs if they simply can’t resist). Seriously, the entire set is to-dive-for (pun intended). Great for gifting or “just because,” these socks are as colorful as they are playful. And, more importantly, they’re incredibly well made—aka, they won’t need to be replaced after just a few washes. All four pairs feature some variation of the cartoon’s main character. Your L.O. will have to channel a bit of the magical sea on their own.
Is your child ready to make the transition to a big kid room, complete with a bunk bed and their own personal space? Before your little wise guy (or girl) gets any ideas—god forbid they throw some paint on the walls or start drawing sh*t with crayons—allow these SpongeBob Squarepants Peel and Stick Wall Decals to come to the rescue. That’s right, these are peel and stick, meaning they can be removed. When they leave for college, and you transform their bedroom into an at-home office or study, you won’t be stuck with SpongeBob memorabilia. With 45 vinyl decals to play around with, they’ll never get bored. Not just limited to walls, these bad boys can be used to decorate furniture, doors, windows, and mirrors. Amazon customer, Nichola says, “My little boy is very impressed! He’s a massive fan of SpongeBob and he’s on cloud nine right now! They are great quality and very easy to use. These are a must for a fan!”
Step aside, Barbie’s Dreamhouse. This SpongeBob Bikini Bottom Playset from Fisher-Price (recommended for kids ages 3 years and older) is the bee’s knees. It comes with a SpongeBob and Squidward character (Patrick figure sold separately!) and three jellyfish projectiles to keep your little rugrats occupied. This colorful playset is chock-full of surprises—simply pull down the smokestack to send SpongeBob out of bed or turn the disk on Squidward’s house for a silly expression. Encourage role-play and make-believe at an early age by letting them act out favorite scenes or come up with their own adventure. From one parent to another, Arcy says, “My girl loves sending SpongeBob out of his bed and down the slide. I think it’s great for building dexterity in little fingers. The figures have movable arms and legs, which is a big plus.”
Take it from everyone’s favorite square yellow sponge (who lives in a pineapple under the sea), nothing is impossible when you have your imagination. This is one of the major life lessons SpongeBob has consistently taught his following over the years. ‘Cuz you know your kids have already seen every episode—and quite frankly, by now, so have you—this Imaginaaation meme, as seen in the Season 3 episode “Idiot Box,” is truly iconic. More than just a plastic collectible figure to be played with during recess, it’ll serve as a reminder to dream BIG. As far as cartoon characters go, SpongeBob SquarePants is just about as optimistic, innocent, and earnest as they come. The figure itself measures 8-inches tall (and, yes, the rainbow he is holding is pretty epic). When not being played with, it’ll look pretty rad displayed on a computer desk. ‘Nuff said.
Patrick Star (aka, Spongebob’s BFF) is such a love. This highly coveted collectible toy shows him in a surprising state, and it’s freaking bizarre and hilarious. No detail goes unnoticed: From his OMG-worthy expression to his green boardshorts with purple flowers. Stick him on a countertop, shelf, or even the dashboard of your car for guaranteed smiles on the daily. Great for all ages, this Amazon customer raves, “The size of this figure makes Patrick look awesome anywhere you put him! He is a must-have for fans of Spongebob or internet memes! Every detail is perfect and the colors look great. Anyone that has a sense of humor will fall in love with him!” Snatch up the entire set of SpongeBob meme figurines (Squidward and SpongeGar are sold separately) for hours of fun.
It’s stretch o’clock. This incredible toy makes it possible to stretch out SpongeBob until he looks so silly you can’t help but laugh! Tug on his pointy nose or his wiggly arms and pull until you’re satisfied. Complete with over 30 silly sounds and phrases—like “I’m a sponge, not a rubber band!” and “these pants sure are reliable!”—this SpongeBob toy is basically the next best thing since sliced bread. Give it to the kids to pull on (tug of war-style) for entertainment while you’re cooking dinner or cleaning the house. Haley C. from Amazon says, “My five-year-old son is currently obsessed with SpongeBob and so I wanted a toy he could carry around with him. He LOVES this! It is VERRRY sturdy (it also survives the often kidnap from his 1 ½-year-old bro).”
Yep, we’re calling it now: Your kid will be obsessed with these Spongeheads. TBH, we’re even about to join in on the party… Once inflated, they’ll be able to wear their preferred Spongehead (choose between Doe Eye SpongeBob, SpongeBob Glasses, Patrick, and Squidward) just like a hat. They’re super comfortable to wear and recommended for kids aged six and up. Whether it’s a costume contest or just an evening spent acting out their favorite SpongeBob scenes, what could be more fun than playing dress-up and acting silly? Can’t stop, won’t stop wearing their Spongeheads, says this Amazon customer. “I think these are a little ridiculous but my 15 and 17-year-old nephews think they’re amazing. They’ve had so much fun wearing them, even to youth dances and people get a kick out of them! They fit them pretty well and they haven’t had any issues with inflating or leaking or anything.”
