Starbucks Toasted Graham Latte? Shut Up And Take My Money

by Maria Guido

Moms, meet your new best friend: Starbucks Toasted Graham Latte.

Today is officially the first day of fall, and to kick it off Starbucks introduced the new flavor. Here’s how they describe it:

“Graham and sweet cream meet steamed milk and our signature espresso, then are finished off with a sprinkling of cinnamon graham crumbles for a less sweet perfect treat.”

I want this. I want this right now.

No offense Pumpkin Spice Latte, but you’ve jumped the shark. It’s not your fault – we ruined it for you by getting too excited every year. Then companies started making pumpkin spice everything, and people started turning on the beloved PSL. This is adulthood in case you’re wondering: getting excited about new Starbucks flavors. Relish your youth.

There are some people who will never abandon their beloved PSL, like my friend, who when I told her about the new drink just said, “How actually dare you? Traitor.”

But seriously, the new drink sounds delicious. It also has less calories, fat, and carbohydrates which is a plus for those of us who don’t want to inhale 420 calories and 18 grams of fat before breakfast. That’s what’s in a PSL if you order it without modifying it. Sorry if I’m uncovering those horrifying stats for you for the first time. The Toasted Graham Latte has 340 calories and 13 grams of fat – which dips to 300 calories and 9 grams of fat if you opt for lowfat milk. This one doesn’t come with whipped cream and it’s much less sweet than the PSL, so it’s more coffee – less dessert. Yes, I just wrote a whole paragraph about what’s in these two lattes. Like I said, this is adulthood.

Let’s abandon our families, drive to Target, order one of these things, and sip it while we shop leisurely and alone. Doesn’t that sound amazing? Whatever, yes it does. No, YOU have no life.
