Whether you love soccer or not, you will definitely love Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso. This pure-as-gold comedy series stars Jason Sudeikis as the titular character, an “aw shucks” small-time football coach who is hired to coach a British soccer team by new team owner Rebecca Walton (Hannah Waddingham). The hook? He has no experience and knows zilch about soccer. The result? Yes, some very funny moments but also surprisingly heartwarming ones, too. Not to mention scene after scene featuring hilarious, wise, and downright earnest Ted Lasso quotes.

If you haven’t caught this gem of a show, you definitely should. It was the runaway hit of the awards season, earning Sudeikis a Golden Globe, a Critic’s Choice Award, and a Screen Actor’s Guild Award. Not bad for a premise that started off as a few NBC Sports promos back in 2013. With Lasso’s trademark charm and optimism, the series was a popular binge in quarantine. A glimmer of positivity, if you will. If you have already watched the series, then you’re probably on round two or three, soaking up the witty one-liners and tender scenes ahead of season 2. Check out some of our favorite lines from the show, and remember, be a goldfish.
