Do you ever have those days where you’re feeling pretty proud of all you’ve accomplished? You pat yourself on the back for getting in some exercise, planting flowers, doing laundry, and making dinner, only to sit down at the end of the day and see a video of a woman pushing a bear off her porch to save her dogs to send you crashing down to reality? No? Well, today is that day.

A woman named Brenda posted the harrowing video on TikTok, saying in part, “My cousin Hailey yeeted a bear off her fence today and saved her dogs. How was your Memorial Day?!” The best part? Hailey is just 17 years old. The clip shows the brown bear with her cubs standing on the home’s retaining wall. Hailey’s dogs are barking at it and you can see the bear crouch down and take a swipe at one of the dogs.

That’s when Hailey sprang into action, running out onto the porch and shoving this full-grown brown bear off the wall, grabbing her dogs, and running back inside. According to Newsweek, CCTV footage captured the entire event that you have to see to believe.

“I was in the mountains so that is actually really normal and it’s summer so they always come now,” explained Hailey in a video on her own account. “This is our garden area and the dogs start barking, and I just thought they were barking at dogs, because they always bark at dogs and squirrels or whatever. I go to tell them to stop and when I go over there to see what they’re barking at, I’m like ‘that’s a funny-looking dog.’ By the time I get there, the bear is literally picking up one of my dogs.”

People on Twitter could not believe what they were seeing and the reactions are priceless, including many dubbing Mystikal’s “help the bear” track over it:

Luckily, after Hailey pushed the bear off the wall, it dropped one of her dogs who got away with minor scratches and everyone got back into the house safely. The bear can be seen climbing back onto the wall, likely stunned into silence by the fact that a teenager just casually yeeted it without warning. All in all, this is one of those “don’t try this at home” moments that could have ended up so much worse.

If you ever needed someone by your side in a fight, I think a whole lot of people will claim Hailey as their “plus-one” in any sort of emergency situation. But seriously, don’t try this at home.
